Coach’s Comment: After a season‑ending injury cut his freshman year short, Luis came back stronger than ever last season, stepping into a starting role at cornerback and proving he belonged. His resilience, work ethic, and determination have shaped him into a leader our program needs, and his growth has been impossible to miss.

This year has the potential to be Luis’s best season yet. He’s stepping confidently into a leadership role in the defensive backfield, bringing confidence, communication, and a competitive edge that elevates the entire unit. His teammates trust him, us coaches believe in him, and he’s ready to make a major impact on our defense.

Not only is Luis looking to put his stamp on the defense, but new Offensive Coordinator Dallas Arner is counting on him to make a big impact on the offensive side of the ball as well. Luis has the potential to be our offensive Swiss Army knife — getting reps at running back and wide receiver, creating matchup problems, and giving the offense a versatile playmaker who can change the game in multiple ways.

Luis is primed for a breakout year — not just because of his talent, but because of the toughness, versatility, and pure athleticism he brings to our program.
