On February 27th, Kyle Beller was named the new Head Football Coach at Pennridge High School.  Coach Beller took time to talk to EasternPAFootball.com about his new role.

– What is your coaching background?

I started coaching at Nazareth School District under the legend Whitey Williams. At Nazareth, I coached two years at the Middle school. During the second year as the Head Coach, we turned around a 0-9 team to an 8-2. From there I was promoted to the varsity level and coached LB for Mark Madson, who is now the superintendent of the Parkland school district. In 2012, I became the Head Coach of Dieruff High School, my alma mater. We turned around a team that was on a 30-game losing streak to a 500 team within two years. In 2013, I was awarded the Morning Call Coach of the Year. I then had stints at Bethlehem Catholic as the secondary coach. Then the last two years, I was the defensive coordinator at Whitehall High School where we won the district finals and made it to the semi-final of state playoffs.

– What does this new role mean to you?

Very excited to have the chance to keep coaching in an excellent community for football and against a high level of competition.

– What is your focus as you build a staff?

To put together the best staff possible for the team. I will be looking for coaches that focus on the fundamentals of the game and most importantly that build relationships with the players.

– What is your philosophy as a coach?

To have a high-energy team that competes week in and week out.

– Where did you go to school (high school and college) and did you play football in high school and college?

Dieruff High School / Delaware Valley University

– Do you teach and if so, what subject do you teach?

I have taught business classes for the last 21 years at Nazareth  High School.

– What are your thoughts about the league you will be playing in?

I think the SOL is a very high level of football and competitive league.
