DISTRICT 11 NOTES (week 4):
RUNNINGBACKS:
Parker Hatter of Tri-Valley rushed for 256 yards and 5 td’s in their win over Shenandoah Valley. The junior also went over 2,000 yards for his career (2,067). His 5 td’s is one short of the school record 6 td’s that Blake Bowman scored against Line Mountain in 2012. Fletcher Thompson of Williams Valley rushed for 291 yards and 4 td’s in their win over Nativity. Fletcher, also a junior, joined the “4,000 yard” club and now has 4,024 career yards and 57 td’s scored. Logan Troup of Pine Grove followed up his week 3 totals of 45 carries for 326 yards and 3 td’s with week 4 totals of 47 carries for 268 yards and 3 more td’s in their win over New Hope Solebury. Troup leads the District with his 864 yards rushing and went over 2,000 yards for his career (2,202). Colton Reber of Schuylkill Haven went over 5,000 yards rushing for his career in week 4 and now has 5,012 yards. He became just the 16th runningback to reach 5,000 career yards in District 11. Reber has scored 81 career td’s and sits in 12th place all-time in the District. TJ Lawrence of Parkland scored 3 td’s (rush, pass, punt return) in their win over Stroudsburg and is tied with Lukas Croizier of Lehighton for the District lead as both have scored 11 td’s each this season. Lawrence has scored 58 career td’s. He’s tied with Darren Mason of Liberty (1997-99), and Robbie Frey of Lehighton (2004-06) for 50th place all-time in the District. Thompson is 1 behind with 57 career td’s and is tied with Chuck Dibilio (Naz 2008-10), Kevin Gulyas (CC 2008-11), Luke Stevenosky (Min 2020-23), Cade Sawyer (SL 2022-23), and Dante Carr (Min 2022-25). Chase Kessler, another junior from Northampton, went over 2,000 yards rushing in their 1 point win over Liberty and now 2,116 yards. Mike Elchisak of Shenandoah Valley joined the chart in week 4 and is the first Blue Devil to be on the chart since QB Chris Palubinsky made it at the very end of his career with 1,025 career rushing yards from 2009-12.
QUARTERBACKS:
Thomas Murphy of Notre Dame threw for 386 yards and 7 td’s in their win over Pen Argyl. The 7td’s ties the school record held by Matt Bodnar who threw 7 vs Garden Spot in 2024. He tied Cole Defranco and Collin Quintano in week 3 with his 6 td’s which was actually 1 behind actual leader Bodnar. Murphy leads the District with his 1,072 yards passing and 17 td passes. Cooper Madson of Nazareth had his 4th 200 plus-yard game in their win over Freedom. Madson threw for 264 yards and 3 td’s to up his season totals to 950 yards and 12 td passes. Julian Pagan of Allen and TK Gursky of Palmerton also have thrown 12 td passes this season. Colton Sams of Southern Lehigh also went over 1,000 yards passing in week 4 in their win over Wilson. Sams has 1,002 passing yards and 11 td passes. He raised his career totals to 7,303 yards and 90 td passes. His yardage moves him up 1 spot into 9th place all-time as he drops Deven Bollinger of Northwestern down to 10th. Bollinger threw for 7,260 yards from 2016-19. Sams remains in 4th place all-time for td passes in the District with 90. Bollinger is currently in 3rd place with 97 career td passes. Tanner Dogmantis of Whitehall threw for 284 yards and 2 td’s in their close win over Pleasant Valley. Gregory Tirpak of Marian Catholic also threw for 284 yards in their win over Minersville. Tirpak also fired 4 td passes in the game. Janiel Pena of Central Catholic had his first 200-yard game when he threw for 212 yards and 3 td’s in their win over ES South. Garrett Smoyer of Northern Lehigh threw 3 td passes in their win over Palisades joining the “40 td” club and setting the school record for career td passes with his 41. Garrett’s brother Dylan slides down to the 2nd highest total in Bulldog history with his 38 td passes he threw from 2020-21. I added Gursky of Palmerton to the chart with his 1,366 yards. Also going over 1,000 career yards in week 4 were junior Greyson Fuller of ES South (1,101 yards), and sophomore Trey Snyder of Northwestern (1,007 yards).
RECEIVERS:
Drew Boyd of Notre Dame caught 8 passes for 131 yards and 3 td’s vs Pen Argyl. Teammate Jonathan Striba actually joined the “100 catch” club in week 3 and currently has 106 receptions for his career. Striba also leads the District with 6 td receptions this season. Zyaire Davis of Liberty caught 7 passes for 148 yards and 2 td’s vs Northampton. Rocco Griguoli of Marian Catholic caught 7 passes for 165 yards and 2 td’s vs Minersville. Griguoli joins the chart with his 562 yards. Carter Vassa of Bethlehem Catholic was inactive in week 4 but still leads the District with his 445 yards. He drops to 2nd in receptions with his 24. Otto Young of Southern Lehigh takes over the top spot with his 27 catches. Henry Shultz of Whitehall is third with 23 receptions and has the 2nd highest yardage total with his 400 yards. He also joins the chart with his 620 yards. Two other players also joined the chart in week 4. They are Tyler Price of Marian Catholic (542 yards), and Joshua Ivers-Green of Stroudsburg (535 yards).
