PAST AND PRESENT
Nate Farber of Northern Lehigh ran for 102 yards and 3 td’s in a 20-15 win over Wilson. Nate would also run for a 2 pt conversion and score all of Northern Lehigh’s 20 points. With just over 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and the Bulldogs down 15-8, younger brother Ryan ran 30 yards on a fake punt to shift the momentum to Northern Lehigh. At the time, older brother Nate had 10 carries for only 30 yards and a 3 yard average. But on the next two plays, he ran for 7 yards and a 24 yard touchdown. He would score the game winner on a 20 yard run in the 4th quarter and average 6 yards per carry on his last 12 carries. Nate was a 1,000 yard rusher last year and has 238 yards so far this year. Nate and Ryan’s father, Chub was a former runningback at Northern Lehigh. After backing up three time 1,000 yard rusher Dale Beck, Chub got his chance as senior in 1981 and continued the streak by rushing for 1,015 yards. Northern Lehigh would not have another 1,000 yard rusher for the next 8 years before Mike Reichard ran for 1,043 yards in 1990.
