RUNNINGBACKS:
Sean Steckert of Southern Lehigh rushed for 219 yards and scored 4 td’s in their win over Juniata. Steckert went over 2,000 yards rushing for the season (2,009), and has scored 40 td’s this year and 44 for his career. Asher Smith holds the school single season record with the 45 he scored in 2019. Steckert became the 4th Spartan to rush for 2,000 yards in a season. Asher Smith owns the school record with the 2,531 yards (2019). Chris Smith rushed 2,289 yards in 1996 and Jeremy Mack followed that up with 2,220 yards in 1997. Eli Zimmerman of Northwestern rushed for 149 yards and scored on an 80 yard punt return in their win over Scranton Prep. Zimmerman upped his season totals to 2,211 yards rushing and 33 td’s scored. He has 23 rushing td’s, 4 receiving td’s and 6 punt return td’s. Zimmerman is 165 yards behind Brett Snyder’s school rushing record (2,376 yards in 1995). He’s tied with Snyder for the 2nd highest single season td total and 2 behind school record holder Dalton Clymer who scored 35 td’s last year. Williams Valley’s Fletcher Thompson ended his freshman season rushing for 1,462 yards and scoring 20 td’s. Those totals are the 2nd highest ever for a freshman in District 11. Jordan Gray of Nazareth holds the freshman records with his 1,663 yards and 22 td’s that he set in 2011. TJ Lawrence of Parkland ends his sophomore season rushing for 1,148 yards and scoring 15 td’s. Lawrence is only the 2nd Trojan to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Austin Scott rushed for 1,918 yards and scored 21 td’s as a sophomore in 2000.
QUARTERBACKS:
Colton Sams of Southern Lehigh threw for 168 yards and 3 td’s vs Juniata upping his school record season totals to 2,715 yards and 31 td passes. He broke the tie with Blake Levengood who threw 28 td’s in 2015. The sophomore also joined the “40 td” club with exactly 40 career td passes. Brady Shomper of Williams Valley finished his junior season passing for 2,413 yards and throwing 35 td passes. He’ll enter his senior season with just under 3,000 passing yards (2,977) and 44 td passes. Bryce Herb owns both school records when he threw for 2,688 yards and 37 td passes in 2019 as a junior. Shomper also rushed for 1,124 yards and 18 td’s this season. Shane Leh of Northwestern has thrown for 1,430 yards and 23 td passes so far this season. Osmany Guzman of Parkland wrapped up his senior season throwing for 1,853 yards and 13 td passes. Guzman ended his career with exactly 2,000 yards passing.
RECEIVERS:
Kian Krzyzanowski of Williams Valley ends his senior season catching 67 passes for 1,260 yards and 17 td grabs (all school records). He finished his career catching 90 passes for 1,819 yards and 30 td catches. Teammate Evan Achenbach just joined the chart after finishing his junior year catching 19 passes for 539 yards (28.4 ypc) and 9 td’s. Andrew Olesh of Southern Lehigh upped his season totals to 63 receptions, 903 receiving yards and 7 td catches. He’s now caught 144 career passes which ties the school record. Jacob Del Priore caught 144 passes from 2011-13. The 144 receptions puts him in a 14th place tie with Del Priore and Jeff McGeehin of Central Catholic (1971-73) on the all-time list. On the all-time yardage list he moved ahead of Jack Robertson of Saucon Valley and into 22nd place just 5 yards behind KJ Williams of Liberty (2,157 from 2010-13). Teammate Luke Kawczenski has 46 catches for 891 yards and 12 td’s this season.
