RUNNINGBACKS:

Matt Frame of Northern Lehigh rushed for 334 yards and 5 td’s in their win over Palmerton.  Frame fell 9 yards short of the school record.  Nate Farber rushed for 343 yards vs Western Wayne in 2014.  Frame went over 3,000 career yards and now has 3,038 yards.  His 5 td’s moved him into the “40 td” club and he currently scored 43 career td’s.  Northwestern’s Justin Holmes ends his career rushing for 2,480 yards and scoring 47 td’s.  He threw for 2,774 career yards and 36 td passes.  His career receiving totals have him catching 35 passes for 847 yards with 13 of his 47 career td’s being td receptions.  Palmerton’s Matt Machalik ends his sophomore season rushing for 1,539 yards and a school record and District leading 31 td’s.  Machalik also threw for 1,308 yards and 9 td passes.  Another sophomore, Alex Achenbach of Williams Valley, continues to lead the District in rushing with 1,657 yards.  Tri-Valley’s junior duo of Jake Scheib and Kameron Wetzel combined to rush for 1,597 yards and 23 td’s this season.  NOTE: The streak continues with all 12 weeks having produced at least 1-200 yard rusher and 1 player scoring at least 4 td’s.

QUARTERBACKS:

Dylan Smoyer of Northern Lehigh set the school’s single season passing yardage record vs Palmerton.  Smoyer has thrown for 1,815 yards, breaking the old record of 1,759 yards that Gary Van Norman threw in 1968.  Smoyer has completed 102 passes (ties school record) in 168 attempts and thrown 23 td passes (ties school record).  Van Norman had almost identical numbers as he also completed 102 passes (school record) on 175 attempts and a school record 23 td passes.  Jake Hall of North Schuylkill has thrown for 2,212 yards and a District leading 30 td passes this season.  Hall joins the “4,000 yard” club and he also broke the school’s career td pass record.  Hall’s career totals have him passing for 4,087 yards and 56 td passes.  Bobby Grigas held the old td pass record when he threw 54 career td passes from 2012-15.  Bobby McClosky of ES South bettered his 269 yards and 3 td passes that he threw 2 weeks ago by throwing for 283 yards and 4 td’s in their overtime win over Whitehall last week.  McClosky went over 2,000 yards passing on the season and now has 2,032 yards and 27 td passes.  His yardage is 4th best at ESS and his td passes are 2nd behind Robbie Moyer’s 35 that he threw in 2009.  In the same game Whitehall’s Trey Dogmanits threw for 239 yards and 4 td’s.  Luke Spang of Parkland finished his sophomore season passing for 1,036 yards and 11 td passes.  Josiah Williams of Emmaus has thrown for 1,611 yards this season which is fifth best all-time for a single season at Emmaus.  All 3 qb’s Dogmanits, Spang, and Williams are all sophomore’s in the EPC South division and all 3 replaced injured quarterbacks this season.  Quinn Wentling of Whitehall was injured mid season and Dogmanits replaced him and threw for 835 yards and 6 td passes.  Williams, who is still playing, started the season in place of Jake Fotta who was injured in pre-season and has thrown 16 td passes to go along with his 1,611 yards.  Spang took over for injured Ty Tremba and as stated was able to pass for over 1,000 yards this season.  Tri-Valley’s Jonas McGrath  came up just shy of 2,000 yards passing for his career

as he ended up with 1,967 yards and 22 td passes.

RECEIVERS:

Colin Burdian of ES South caught 7 passes for 126 yards and 3 td’s vs Whitehall last week.  Burdian has 38 catches for 743 yards and 13 td’s this season.  Teammate Shane Bulay caught 8 passes for 100 yards and the game winning td catch in overtime.  Junior Brady Evans of Williams Valley has similar numbers as Burdian as he caught 42 passes for 789 yards and 12 td’s this season.  Joey Flail of North Schuylkill broke the school’s single season reception record when he caught 7 passes for 100 yards and 2 td’s in their win over Jim Thorpe.  The sophomore has 57 receptions for 980 yards and 13 td’s this season.  Ron Hartz held the old Spartan reception record when he caught 54 passes in 1982.  Cade Christopher of Northwestern finished his junior season catching 34 passes for 671 yards and 11 td’s.  Christopher scored 20 total td’s this season.  Christopher will enter his senior season with 49 catches for 1,041 yards and 18 td receptions.  Bryce Bashore of Whitehall caught 5 passes for 74 yards and 3 first half td receptions vs ES South.
