District 11 Notes (Week 11):

RUNNINGBACKS: 

Josh Ludlow of Notre Dame rushed for 194 yards and scored a school tying record 6 td’s in week 11. Gerald Grube scored 6 td’s vs Wilson in 2017. Ludlow upped his td season total to 24 and and his career total to 45. Senior Caden Henritzy of Northampton went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season in week 11 (1,090 yards). Henritzy scored a td in the game to improve his career total to 50 td’s scored. Aiden Myers of Schuylkill Haven scored 3 td’s in week 11 which put him in the “40 td” club with exactly 40. Myers, a senior, has rushed for 1,260 yards and scored 14 td’s this season and teammate Sophomore Niko Carestia has rushed for 1,270 yards and scored 19 td’s. Trey Tremba of Parkland went over 3,000 career rushing yards last week (3,035 yards). Tremba joins an elite group of District 11 players that have rushed for 3,000 yards and have 1,000 yards receiving in a career (1,164). The other 4 players to accomplish this were Frank Morici of Notre Dame who rushed 640 times for 3,146 yards and caught 111 passes for 1,002 yards from 1988-91. He scored a total of 35 td’s. Shane Simpson of Easton rushed 563 times for 4,514 yards and caught 115 passes for 1,587 yards. He scored 85 td’s in his career. Austyn Borre of Pleasant Valley rushed 586 times for 4,295 yards and caught 89 passes for 1,052 yards. He scored 66 career td’s. Nate Boyle of Tamaqua rushed 539 yards for 4,088 yards and caught 109 passes for 1,562 yards. He scored 79 career td’s. Tremba has also scored 62 td’s in his career. Cade Sawyer of Southern Lehigh rushed for 221 yards and scored 5 td’s in week 11. Sawyer has rushed for 1,473 yards this season while scoring 34 td’s. Sawyer has 55 career td’s. Colm McGroarty of Mahanoy Area finished his career with a school record 4,219 yards rushing. McGroarty scored 62 career td’s which is the 2nd highest total in school history behind Ziggy Dudash’s 69 td’s that he scored from 1997-99. Matt Machalik of Palmerton went over 2,000 yards rushing on the season (2,071 yards) and has scored 35 td’s. Machalik is the first District 11 player to have a season rushing for 2,000 yards and another season with 2,000 yards passing. He has scored 93 career td’s moving him into 4th place all-time in the District. He moved Cody Remaley of Northern Lehigh down to 5th place with his 92 td’s he scored from 2007-10. Alex Achenbach of Williams Valley rushed for 295 yards and scored 3 td’s in week 11. Achenbach leads the District with 2,633 rushing yards. He also broke 2 school records in the process. He’s rushed for 6,594 career yards and scored 80 career td’s. Dylan Rabuck held both records when he rushed for 6,421 yards and scored 78 td’s from 2014-17. Achenbach moves into 4th place all-time in the District for his rushing yardage. Besides moving ahead of Rabuck, he also went by Colin McDermott of Central Catholic (6,473 yards from 2010-12), and Remaley (6,555 yards from 2007-10). His 80 td’s puts him in 10th place all-time in the District. Dylan Evans of Pen Argyl (2008-11), and Nate Boyle of Tamaqua (2016-19) move out of the top ten with their 79 career td’s.

QUARTERBACKS:

Antonio Fontanez of Central Catholic threw for 254 yards and 4 td’s in week 11. Fontanez takes over the District lead with his 2,071 yards passing this season. Danny Darno of Notre Dame is right behind Fontanez with 2,062 yards. Darno leads the District with 24 td passes. Luke Spang of Parkland is one behind Darno with 23 td passes. Brady O’Donnell of Lehighton joined the “4,000 yard” club and broke the school career passing yardage record in week 11. O’Donnell ended his career throwing for 4,136 yards. Tyler Cann held the old record when he threw for 3,993 yards from 2012-15. Ben Kreitzer of Nativity (1,123 yards), Blake Schwartz of Tri-Valley (1,085 yards), Gavin Taff of Northampton (1,049 yards), Dante Carr of Minersville (1,018 yards), and Tyler Miller of Blue Mountain (1,001 yards) all went over 1,000 yards passing in week 11. Machalik has 5,940 career passing yards which moves him up one more spot into 18th place all-time in the District. He drops Dan Persa of Liberty down to 19th place. Persa threw for 5,775 yards from 2003-06. Along with Fontanez, Aiden Hess of Catasauqua also went over 2,000 yards passing for his career (2,044 yards). In week 10. Ivan Laubach of ES South threw for 245 yards and 4 td passes in week 10.

RECEIVERS:

Damian Tyminski of Pen Argyl ends his career with school records of 170 receptions, 2,556 receiving yards, and 17 td receptions. Nick Ryan of Shenandoah Valley ends his career with school records of 130 receptions, 2,231 receiving yards, and 27 td receptions. Junior Noah Dolbin of Nativity went over 100 career receptions (103) and broke the school record. Paul Bandholz caught 100 passes from 1986-88. Dolbin will enter his senior season needing 47 yards to reach 2,000 yards for his career and needs 2 td catches to break the career record. Ian Juica of Catasauqua went over 100 catches in week 10 and added 8 more in week 11 and now has 109 in his career. He also caught a td pass in week 11 and now has 20 for his career. Alex Moser of Pen argyl went over 1,000 yards receiving for his career last week. Moser ended his career catching 64 passes for 1,040 yards and 10 td’s. Tyminski currently leads the District with 62 receptions. Justin Yescavage of JimThorpe leads the District in reception yardage with 964 yards. Xzavier Pusateri of ES South caught 8 passes for 119 yards and 4 td’s in week 10. Three more made the chart in week 11 with 500 career receiving yards. They are Ethan Manley of Mahanoy Area (548 yards), Brady Behr of PM West (543 yards), and Nekhi Spencer of ES South (506 yards).
