Indians Cruise Past the Colts

It was a 40-6 home win Friday night for the Lehighton Indians football team over the Marian Catholic Colts. After suffering a 26-0 shutout loss against Central Columbia last Friday, the Indians were hungry for a win.

The first score of the game came on a pass from quarterback Lucas Sangiuliano to tight end Ben Schatz for a 17-yard touchdown to put the Indians up 6-0, after the extra point attempt was no good. With 6:21 left in the first quarter, Schatz hit freshman wide receiver Ian Rarick increasing the Indians lead to 12-0 after a failed two-point conversion. Red White and Blue Eagles: Nazareth Upsets Freedom

Nazareth proves wrong any last doubts in their win at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium on Friday night against the number one ranked Freedom Patriots. Led by Anthony Harris, the Blue Eagles scored five total touchdowns and showed Lehigh Valley football fans that they are the real deal.

They continue to show a dangerous mix between passing and rushing as Harris threw for two touchdowns, one to Tyler O’Hagan and the other to Nate Stefanik. On the 24 yard dart to Stefanik, Harris broke Nazareth’s all-time passing touchdown record. The elusive QB threw 19-22 and had a total of 235 passing yards. When Nazareth kept the ball on the ground, they racked up three rushing touchdowns from three different rushers (Joe Capobianco, Logan Grom and Anthony Harris)….Read more

Hornets shut out Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley made the hour long drive to EPSD Stadium to take on Emmaus in week four. Emmaus came into this game fresh off of a win against Whitehall last week. Emmaus came in at 2-1. The Bears came in at 0-3 looking for their first win of 2019.

Emmaus won the toss and wanted the ball. Jake Moyer led the Hornets out in his second career varsity start. He was impressive again, completing short passes to Sanders and Bertsch. Brandon Camire continued his incredible start to the season as he finished the opening drive off with a 23 yard TD.

Pleasant Valley now trailing brought out their offense which sometimes causes problems because of their formation. It’s an unorthodox formation, not many teams use it. Pleasant Valley used it and got good results but it wasn’t good enough, they went three and out…..Read more
