Central Dauphin football marked its 1,000th community service event with a reading visit to Paxtonia Elementary.

They had 40+ players read to the students at Paxtonia Elementary. Each year they visit the six elementary schools that feed into Central Dauphin High School, something they’ve done since 2007.

“Reading to students is one small part of an overall community service program we started in 2006,” said Head Football Coach Glen McNamee.” “Since that year, we’ve participated in 1000 community service events. We’ve visited retirement homes, helped at food pantries, and much, much, much more.”
