Blue Mountain’s Chase Guers has announced on his social media pages that he has commitment to West Virginia Mountaineers football, giving the Mountaineers one of Pennsylvania’s top Class of 2027 prospects.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver/athlete made his decision today following an official visit to Morgantown earlier this month. Guers chose West Virginia over a growing list of Power Four offers that included Syracuse, UConn, Cincinnati and several other FBS programs.

Guers has the combination of size, athleticism and playmaking ability that schools were looking for. His commitment provides West Virginia with another talented athlete in its 2027 recruiting class.

In 2025, he had 35 catches for 535 yards, 15.3 yards per catch, 44.6 yards per game and 6 TD’s. He had 909 all-purpose yards, 75.8 yards per game.

“Chase’s work ethic, size and speed enable him to stretch the field and make him a deep threat and game changer,” said Head Football Coach Chuck Kutz. “He runs excellent patterns and has good hands as a possession receiver. He catches the ball well in traffic over the middle. He must be accounted for on every play, including special teams.”

With his recruitment now complete, Guers can turn his full attention toward helping Blue Mountain compete this season while continuing to develop into one of Eastern Pennsylvania’s elite playmakers before arriving in Morgantown in 2027.
