Pennridge Reloads After Memorable District Championship Run

Few teams in District 1 enjoyed a more memorable 2025 season than Pennridge.

The Rams finished 13-2, captured the Suburban One League National Conference championship, advanced to the District 1 Class 6A title game and finished the year by defeating rival Quakertown 24-14 on Thanksgiving morning.

Along the way, Pennridge knocked off perennial powers North Penn during the regular season, Downingtown East in the district quarterfinals and Coatesville in the semifinals before falling 21-14 to North Penn in the District 1 championship game.

It was another impressive season for head coach Kyle Beller and his staff, but graduation leaves the Rams with plenty to replace.

Pennridge lost four-year starting quarterback Noah Keating along with Ryan Rowe, William Dougherty, Chase Clontz, Ian Gallagher, Thomas Ginnetti, Jackson Gregoire, Luis Nunes, Shane Rowand, Davis Underhill and Nolan Worman.

That group helped establish Pennridge as one of District 1’s premier Class 6A programs.

Now the Rams begin the next chapter.

The good news is that Pennridge returns experienced playmakers throughout the roster.

Senior Sean Leuthe, senior Brody Blomgren and junior Blake Landherr return after starring on both sides of the football, while the offensive line welcomes back multiple experienced starters.

The quarterback position will feature a new face, but the supporting cast gives Pennridge every opportunity to remain among the Suburban One League’s top contenders.

The Rams have built their success on physical football, disciplined defense and timely offensive execution.

Those expectations remain unchanged entering 2026.

Quarterback Battle Headlines Camp

Replacing a four-year starter is never simple.

That responsibility falls to juniors Aiden Tetkowski and Ronin Loch, who will compete throughout preseason camp to determine Pennridge’s next starting quarterback.

Both quarterbacks inherit an offense with experienced receivers, a productive running game and a veteran offensive line.

That support should allow the coaching staff to ease the transition.

The Rams do not need their new quarterback to immediately replace everything Keating accomplished.

Instead, they need efficient decision-making, ball security and leadership.

Pennridge’s offense has traditionally succeeded by controlling the football, limiting mistakes and capitalizing on scoring opportunities.

The winning quarterback must demonstrate command of the offense while earning the confidence of teammates.

Whether Tetkowski or Loch wins the job, the Rams believe the position will remain in capable hands.

Competition should only strengthen the room.

Leuthe Returns as Offensive Playmaker

Senior Sean Leuthe enters the season as one of the most dynamic players in District 1.

Last season, he caught 30 passes for 512 yards and three touchdowns while also carrying the football 17 times for 148 yards and another score.

His versatility allows Pennridge to create mismatches throughout the formation.

Leuthe can stretch defenses vertically, create yards after the catch and contribute in the running game.

The Rams will likely continue moving him around the formation to ensure he consistently touches the football.

His experience also makes life easier for the new quarterback.

When plays break down, veteran receivers become invaluable.

Leuthe understands coverages, finds open space and consistently produces in critical situations.

Beyond the statistics, he also provides leadership.

Replacing Keating means Pennridge’s experienced skill players must become more vocal.

Leuthe is expected to embrace that responsibility.

Emerging Receiving Corps

Junior Nate Derstine returns after catching eight passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns.

Those numbers only hint at his potential.

The coaching staff expects Derstine to assume a much larger role this season.

Pennridge also expects several new receivers to emerge following successful junior varsity seasons.

Developing those players will be essential.

The Rams cannot rely exclusively on Leuthe throughout the year.

Additional targets must establish themselves to prevent defenses from focusing on one player.

The receiving corps also plays a major role in Pennridge’s running game.

Blocking on the perimeter creates explosive opportunities for the backs.

If the receivers consistently win those battles, the offense becomes significantly more balanced.

Landherr Adds Versatility

Junior Blake Landherr emerged as a receiving threat during the second half of last season.

He finished with seven receptions for 97 yards and three touchdowns while demonstrating his ability to become a dangerous red-zone target.

Landherr’s value extends well beyond receiving.

His versatility allows Pennridge to create matchup problems.

He can line up traditionally, move into different formations and contribute as a blocker.

His presence should help whichever quarterback earns the starting job.

Reliable tight ends often become a young quarterback’s best friend, particularly on third down and inside the red zone.

Landherr gives Pennridge that dependable option.

His continued development could make him one of the Suburban One League’s breakout players.

Running Game Remains Foundation

Pennridge has long been known for physical football.

That identity begins with the running game.

Junior Trevor Picciotti returns after rushing for 277 yards while adding 32 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Senior Brody Blomgren also returns as another experienced runner capable of handling multiple responsibilities.

Several talented players from last year’s successful junior varsity team will also compete for carries.

The coaching staff believes the backfield has quality depth.

That depth allows Pennridge to rotate players and maintain fresh legs throughout games.

The Rams want to establish the run early, control possession and create favorable situations for their new quarterback.

A productive rushing attack also enhances the play-action passing game.

If Pennridge consistently wins at the line of scrimmage, the offense should remain one of the conference’s most balanced units.

Veteran Offensive Line Sets the Tone

Senior Wyatt Moyer, junior Kevin Tyburski and junior Henry Phelan return to anchor the offensive line.

Their experience should become one of Pennridge’s greatest strengths.

The offensive front will determine how quickly the new quarterback settles into the offense.

Protecting the passer and creating running lanes remain the priorities.

The Rams have traditionally won games by controlling the line of scrimmage.

That philosophy should continue.

Communication, physicality and consistency will be expected every Friday night.

The offensive line also must help integrate younger players stepping into larger roles.

If Moyer, Tyburski and Phelan provide strong leadership, Pennridge’s offense should continue operating efficiently despite replacing several key starters.

Blomgren and Landherr Headline Elite Linebackers

Pennridge returns one of District 1’s best linebacker duos.

Senior Brody Blomgren recorded 75 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, four sacks and an interception last season.

Junior Blake Landherr enjoyed one of the area’s most productive defensive campaigns, finishing with 135 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two sacks and an interception.

Those numbers speak for themselves.

Together, they provide experience, leadership and exceptional production.

Pennridge expects the linebackers to become the heart of its defense once again.

Both players excel against the run while possessing the athleticism necessary to defend the pass.

Their ability to diagnose plays quickly allows the Rams to play aggressively without sacrificing discipline.

Few teams in District 1 can match Pennridge’s experience at linebacker.

Veteran Secondary Returns Playmakers

Leuthe also returns as one of Pennridge’s top defensive players.

The senior safety recorded 77 tackles and two interceptions last season.

His instincts and range make him the leader of the secondary.

Senior Michael Ferguson returns after recording 52 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and an interception.

His experience at cornerback provides stability while younger defensive backs compete for playing time.

The Rams must replace several defensive contributors, but Leuthe and Ferguson establish a strong foundation.

The secondary’s responsibilities extend beyond coverage.

Pennridge expects its defensive backs to tackle effectively and create turnovers.

If Leuthe and Ferguson continue producing at last season’s level, the defense should remain difficult to attack through the air.

Defensive Front Must Develop Depth

Senior Gary Gorman and senior Jamison Dulin return along the defensive line.

Gorman recorded 20 tackles and one tackle for loss, while Dulin contributed 24 tackles, three tackles for loss and a half sack.

Both players now assume larger leadership roles.

Pennridge must develop additional contributors around them.

The defensive line’s ability to occupy blockers and pressure quarterbacks directly impacts the linebackers behind them.

If Gorman and Dulin consistently control the line of scrimmage, Blomgren and Landherr should have opportunities to make plays throughout the game.

Depth will become especially important late in the season.

The Rams expect several new players to compete for those rotational positions during camp.

Defense Built on Physicality

Pennridge’s defensive identity remains unchanged.

The Rams want to play fast, physical and fundamentally sound football.

They return experienced leaders at linebacker and in the secondary while welcoming competition throughout the defensive front.

The coaching staff believes the defense can once again become one of the team’s biggest strengths.

Success will depend on integrating younger players without sacrificing consistency.

Communication and discipline become especially important when replacing experienced veterans.

Pennridge expects its veteran leaders to guide that transition.

If the new starters develop quickly, the defense has the potential to rank among the area’s best once again.

Special Teams Have Experienced Foundation

Special teams remain an important emphasis for Pennridge.

Austin Keller is expected to handle kicking duties after joining the varsity program late last season.

His development should bring stability to the kicking game.

Landherr returns as the team’s long snapper and short snapper, while Tetkowski returns as the holder for extra points and field goals.

Both executed their responsibilities effectively last season.

That continuity gives Pennridge confidence entering the year.

Reliable specialists often become the difference in close playoff games.

The Rams understand the importance of winning field position and converting scoring opportunities.

Players to Watch

Sean Leuthe, Sr., WR/S: Dynamic two-way playmaker who totaled 660 offensive yards while recording 77 tackles and two interceptions.

Blake Landherr, Jr., TE/LB: One of District 1’s most productive linebackers after finishing with 135 tackles and 14 tackles for loss while emerging as an offensive weapon.

Brody Blomgren, Sr., RB/LB: Physical two-way leader who posted 75 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and four sacks while contributing in the running game.

Trevor Picciotti, Jr., RB: Returning running back expected to assume a larger offensive role.

Michael Ferguson, Sr., CB: Experienced defensive back who recorded 52 tackles and an interception.

Gary Gorman, Sr., DL: Veteran defensive lineman expected to anchor the front.

Jamison Dulin, Sr., DL: Returning starter providing leadership and depth on the defensive line.

Wyatt Moyer, Sr., OL: Veteran offensive lineman who anchors a physical front.

Nate Derstine, Jr., WR: Talented receiver poised for an expanded role after averaging more than 19 yards per reception.

Aiden Tetkowski/Ronin Loch, Jr., QB: Quarterback competition that will determine the direction of Pennridge’s offense.

My thoughts on Pennridge

Pennridge enters the 2026 season with the difficult task of replacing one of the most successful senior classes in recent program history.

Graduation claimed an experienced quarterback and numerous standout contributors on both sides of the football.

Fortunately for the Rams, the returning roster features proven leaders in every phase of the game.

Leuthe, Blomgren and Landherr headline an experienced core capable of carrying the program’s winning culture forward.

The offensive line returns valuable experience, the running game appears deep and the defense welcomes back standout performers at linebacker and in the secondary.

The quarterback competition will receive much of the attention throughout camp, but Pennridge’s overall success will depend on how quickly new starters develop around its veteran leaders.

The Rams have established themselves as one of District 1’s premier programs by playing disciplined, physical football and consistently developing talent.

There is little reason to expect that formula to change.

If Pennridge finds stability at quarterback, continues to dominate defensively and receives contributions from its emerging playmakers, the Rams should once again challenge for the Suburban One League National Conference title and make another deep run in the District 1 Class 6A playoffs.
