Coaches comments:

How’s your offensive line?

“We don’t have one starter back on the offensive line. We will have Beau Yoder and Albert Wolfgang at offensive guard. The other three spots are up for grabs this camp.”

You have your talented quarterback coming back. Talk about him.

“We have Steven Sedesse back. Last year was his first year starting. He did play one game as a  sophomore when our quarterback went down. He’s 13-1 as a starter. He threw for over 1,800 yards and 25 touchdowns. ”

How’s your running game look?

“We have coming back at running back is Cole Barnhardt. Trevor Whelski returns at fullback. He will be in a lot of one back sets when we put Cole in the slot position at times. Cole will be all over the field this year. We like our chances when he touches the ball.”

Note: Cole and Trevor combined for 2,160 yards rushing on 296 carries and 29 touchdowns.

How about your receivers?

“We have our tight end back. He is Tim Schorr. At wide receiver we have Cody Miller back. He has some experience coming back. There are four guys competing for the last two spots.”

How’s your defensive line?

“We have Beau Yoder back at defensive tackle.

How do your linebackers look this year?

“We have all four kids back from last season. They are Cole Barnhardt, Trevor Whelski, Tim Schorr and Albrert Wolfgang.

Note: At linebacker they combined for 459 total tackles last season. They returned their top tackler from 2012, Trevor Whelski (144 total tackles).

How’s your secondary?

“We lost everyone to graduation. We are going to be very green in the secondary. Steven Vega will be one of the corners. At times you can see Cole Barnhardt at corner. Cody Miller will be a starting corner. At safety Nick Rodichok will see action. Nick is the backup quarterback.”

Going into the 2013 season what concerns you on offense?

“It’s our offensive line. We don’t have one starter back on the line. If we can get a offensive line together, I think we can duplicate what we did last year. This is a new team and new season and we lost some key players from last year and we need to spread the ball around.”

What is your strength on defense this year?

What is your key? “It will be at linebacker. We have all four guys back. It’s going to come down to run stopping in our league.”

  1. Brian says:

I was quite impressed with the regular season highlights of williams valley last year but then for some reason they took a dump in the playoffs. I was expecting a possible SCA/WV matchup last year but neither team made it that far. Maybe it can happen this year.
