Highlights of 2024: The 2024 season was a testament to our team’s resilience and growth. We started the year 0-5, with heartbreaking losses, including two 1-point games and two other one-score battles. Despite the tough start, we never wavered.

We turned the season around with four straight wins, including a historic first-ever victory over Southern Columbia. Along the way, we secured huge wins against Milton, Central Columbia, and Midd-West, proving our ability to rise to the occasion.

Though the season didn’t end the way we wanted in the playoffs, the way we finished has ignited a fire in this program. The future is bright, and we are hungry to build on our momentum heading into next season.

Special Teams:
Landen Murray- 15 punt returns for 173 yards; 31 kickoff returns for 930 yards. 1103 total return yards and 3 TD’s

Key Newcomers:
Brady Threet (Freshman – TE/ILB)
Brady has been nothing short of phenomenal so far. It’s rare to see a freshman physically ready to compete at the varsity level, but Brady is built for it. He’s extremely smart, understands the game at a high level, and brings a physical edge on both sides of the ball. His maturity and toughness make him a standout newcomer to watch this season.

Jackson Marr (Sophomore – WR/CB)
Jaxson got a taste of varsity action late last season due to injuries, and he made the most of it. He’s an explosive athlete and a true playmaker at wide receiver. On defense, he’s been developing into a solid corner. Jackson plays fast, aggressive football and has a knack for being around the ball and making things happen.

2025 Offensive Outlook: We return nearly everyone on the offensive side of the ball, which gives us a strong sense of confidence heading into the season. Our passing game is something we’re very excited about — we believe we have the potential to be explosive through the air. Chad Martin will once again lead the offense, and there’s no doubt he has the ability to spread the ball around and make big plays downfield.

That said, a major point of emphasis this offseason and into camp is developing a more consistent run game. It’s an area we’ve struggled with in the past, especially last year, and it’s time for us to establish more balance. We’re looking for someone to emerge at running back and take control of that role. If we can find that piece, we feel our offense can take a big step forward this fall.

2025 Defensive Outlook: Defensively, we’re fortunate to return nearly everyone, which gives us a solid foundation heading into the season. We feel especially confident in our secondary — we bring back two key starters and have a very athletic player stepping into the corner spot, which should give us strong coverage across the board.

Our biggest focus moving forward is stopping the run on a more consistent basis. That starts with our linebackers being more aggressive, reading quickly, and flowing downhill to make plays. Last year was our first season running a new defensive scheme, and naturally, we expect to take a step forward in year two. With more familiarity, we’re hoping to expand what we can do while staying aggressive and playing fast.

2025 Special Teams Outlook: We’re currently looking for someone to step up and take over the kicking duties, as we graduated our starter from last season. It’s an important role, and we’re hoping camp brings out a reliable option.

We do feel very confident in our return game, led by Landen Murray, who will handle both kick and punt returns. He’s an explosive athlete with the ability to flip the field or score any time he touches the ball.

Overall, we know we need to be more disciplined in the little things on special teams. Last season, we gave up a few explosive plays at critical moments, and eliminating those breakdowns will be a key focus heading into 2025.
