@ jIMBO
Ok you got me i going out on a limb and stateing here that a d2 team will win a playoff game against d11.I think that they wii finally be competive. Scranton & Del Valley have good looking teams this year and it not the old same 1980 offence that they run !!!!!!
@mark d, are you saying that D2 will finally beat D11?
Understood Jim i think Del Valley & Scranton are really a step above the AAA teams this year it may be d2 year to make some noise in the big school playoff.
sorry guys but I think paul likes to attack more than he does being attacked!!!!!
mark d, sorry, my comment was talking about AH scoring points at times, meaning against ranked teams such as the Del Val game. the other 5 teams they played are 7-17. AH has the talent, like to see them get into the playoffs.
Is there any reason to believe riverside viking football will play any defense at all this year?they rank up there with “MONTROSE” as one of the worst defensive football teams in division 2 . It is getting tough to watch this team make every offense they play look like the league’s best.??is it coaching or lack of heart??
@Jim i ageree AH and Berwick are safe bets as for Valley View their a 5-5 team lack of Phillps and coaching will see to that. Prep really need to beat AH this week,Prep has played 2 AA teams this season and i dont think they will have a win over a AAAA team if it comes down to point at 7-3 they may loose out.As for you commet on AH scoreing they scored at least 4 td in every game they played except the loss to Del Valley ???? they are avg 30 point a game ??
Ron,
That’s OK. McDevitt and Wood would both smash Berwick. Heck, Pottsgrove would likely beat them as well. No state title in Crispin Field this year.
@phillyboy
it was the second round
@CBSouth guy
should be a good game
As much as I want to see them run the table, I’m afraid CB South is gonna take an L this week. I give them some props for taking out North Penn last week but I suspect they’re paper tigers. I remember they pulled this a few years ago. They went undefeated 10-0, think they were the #1 seed and then proceeded to get bounced in the first round.
@brian. Nice shout out to CB South. As my title says, I’m a CB South guy. I’m surprised with the success they’ve had, but after seeing Pileggi and Josh Adams (not Harris) you can see it as a foundation and what it’s based on. But the biggest reason for the CONTINUED success from last year has been the defensive improvement. They gave up big numbers last year, but have been for the most part solid this year, with a few breakdowns. I agree that the Pennridge game this week (@ Pennridge’s Poppy Yoder field) is going to be tough. Mike Class is a stud and Pennridge is solid all around. Should be a good game and hopefully CB South doesn’t let down after the emotional win last week.
Sorry. Posted Oct. 3rd, 2012. Again see you in Hershey!
@Brian
Please refer to post 73 in this blog. See you in Hershey!
to mark D, in D2 – Berwick & AH are safe bets, not sold on VV as they are and will struggle against the AAAA teams. AH has some issue on scoring points at times.
@ Jim B if prep and comets both lose, that will give #1 seed to berwick.If dallas makes the #4 seed, they have to go back to crispin field where they got bashed 50-14. better hope for ec playoffs.
OK–I needed to get off the LS bandwagon and make note of some special players in the area that I have seen. The QB (Pileggi) from CB South and the RB (Josh Harris) are having incredible seasons! They are doing it against the top dogs now which makes it even more special. Pileggi has been a true field general, a great leader. Harris is a beast with a huge upside. I am so impressed that CB South is able to keep piling up the same numbers even after graduating a BCS QB (Johns) and an FCS RB(Brown). Rackovan seems like a good guy and I wish them all the best throughout the playoffs. If their defense can hold up I like them going pretty far this year although I have a weird feeling about the Pennridge game–thinking it could be a let down for South after N Penn. Not sure where they play this one –I’m going with the home team.
Jerry, since Paul wants specifics let me help you out…It was PFP who said all summer long that Jimmy Herron would be QB this year and young RB Meachum would have Rahman like numbers.
Paul-Again, please enjoy these young guys and let them carve out their own careers. Meachum is the back up to Herman right now and he will be a very good HS player. To get to Rahman #’s you have to be talented and real durable–many good RB’s can run for 1,000 yds–it’s the special one’s who climb to 1500 plus yds. You are witnessing incredible accuracy and efficiency with Kane and probably the best sophomore(at LS) receiving year by Herron when it’s all said and done. IMO League seems to be down as Judge, Ryan & Roman are not as tough as they have been in the past. Prep or LS will definitely be in the Eastern Final this year. Paul, seems like you are on edge…chill out and enjoy this great american game being played by kids. These kids do read this stuff and they would rather their fans (parents)stay humble and quiet like their coaches when it comes to LS personnel and such. Not looking to keep boring everyone else on the thread with LS stuff. Sorry
@jimbo, got me there. Don’t I feel silly. You have only 2 or 3 comments out of the last 150 or so. Thank you for saving it for me!
@ Jerry
“It was one of you guys…” Well thanks for narrowing it done there Jerry.
@Jim
i agree that why i said that one of thouse teams will end up 7-3,lot of football to play.Who do all you d2 guys like in AA looks like 6 teams are still really in the hunt even for the top seed
Jim B, you are right. Dallas needs to beat Crestwood…and they definitely needs Coughlin to be Crestwood too.
@jive, make a fool of yourself much?
If you want to get on people for their use of the English language it would serve you well to know the difference between breath and breathe.
@Jim B
Agreed. It should be an exciting last half of High School Football.
Rollie,
I agree, Dallas has a chance to win all four of their remaining games, but, that still may not be enought to get them into the playoffs.
Paul, as I mentioned it was from another site. Look, I am a very objective football fan, certainly not a homer. I have read these posts for several years and when it comes to LS, you and another guy (fbfan) try and come off as an insider. It was one of you guys who had the WR (3) playing QB and mentioned a Soph RB (23) as the next coming of a 2 time all state RB . It seems you were wrong, by a lot. I think most of the LS community feel blessed to be part of something special for this past few years. The coaches know what they are doing, all of them. Wishing both the Prep and LS players good luck and more importantly good health.
