2009 Points Per Game

Points Scored: 21.8

Points Allowed: 21.5

Notes: In 2007, Bloomsburg scored 446 points over 15 games. The Panther defense allowed just a shade under two scores (13.7).

Head Coach Larry Sones is only three years removed from his team’s Class A Eastern Region Championship loss to Steelton-Highspire, 28-14, at Hershey Park Stadium. In recent history, the Panthers have been consistent winners.

This year should be no different with the return of their junior quarterback Blake Rankin. The 6’4 signal caller threw for 1,504 yards and 12 scores as a sophomore. The offensive line will have to give Rankin time to throw the ball. Senior Mike Recia , 2009 First-Team All-Heartland, returns to lead the line into 2010. Last year, there were three Panthers who gained over 270 yards rushing. That’s a testament to the quintet up front.

Bloomsburg finishes the year with three of their final four contests from Panther Stadium.
