PCN and BIG 33 reach three year agreement

PCN AND BIG 33 REACH THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT

PCN is pleased to announce a formal partnership between the Big 33 Scholarship Foundation and the statewide public affairs network.  Thanks to the signing of a three-year agreement, viewers in more than 3 million homes across the state will be able to watch this football classic which pits Pennsylvania against Ohio.  The game, now in its 53^rd year, will kick off at 7:00 p.m. on June 19 at Hershey Park Stadium.

Under the agreement, PCN will offer special programming in addition to coverage of the annual Big 33 banquet.  On February 25, the network will air a program that will explain the many benefits this game brings to the chosen players, cheerleaders, host families, buddies and scholarship winners.  Later this spring, NFL All-Pro running back and Harrisburg native, Ricky Watters will sit down with PCN to discuss his life, achievements, and inspirations as well as his connection to the Big 33 on a special PCN Profiles.  In June, the network will feature a program that will examine the week-long series of events leading to the big game.

“PCN is honored to form a partnership with such a great Pennsylvania institution. We look forward to showcasing the Big 33 organization that not only gives us a great football game, but does great charitable work all year long,” said PCN president and CEO Brian Lockman.

“This partnership will allow the Big 33 to ensure its mission of raising funds for academic scholarships and charitable activities while producing the premier high school all-star football game in the United States,” stated Big 33 Executive Director, Dave Trimbur. “It also gives companies and organizations another opportunity to market themselves through the Big 33, in addition to the many events it executes year round.”

Known as the “High School Super Bowl,” players from both Pennsylvania and Ohio are selected for being a positive role model on and off the football field by the Big 33 Selection Committee.

The Big 33 awards academic scholarships to high school seniors as well as provides fundraisers to support local charities and high schools in both Pennsylvania and Ohio.
