District 11 Talk Week 9

East Stroudsburg South

East Stroudsburg South won their eighth game in a row routing Hazleton Area 35-3.

Senior quarterback Robbie Moyer threw for 177 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 66 yards.

Collin Hegarty rushed for 39 yards on 10 carries and one score.

On defense they held Hazleton Area to 119 yards.

East Stroudsburg South (8-1) travels to East Stroudsburg North.

North Schuylkill

North Schuylkill was down 8-6 but rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Panther Valley 12-8 at Spartan Stadium.

With the win by North Schuylkill they clinch their first Anthracite Football League Championship.

Kody Flail rushed for 92 yards and one score. Scott Houser rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries.

North Schuylkill (9-0) travels to Mount Carmel Area.

Easton Area

Easton Area made a statement win over the defending PIAA Class 4A state champs Bethlehem Liberty 28-7.

Quran Hughes rushed for 107 yards on 18 carries and one score. Justin Pacchioli completed 3 of 4 passes for 42 yards and one score. He also had a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Easton Area (8-1) travels to Bethlehem Catholic.

Tamaqua

Tamaqua racked up 224 yards in the first half and cruised to a shut out win over Minersville, 28-0.

Running back Grif Griffiths rushed for 118 yards on 20 carries and three touchdowns. Griffiths had touchdown runs of 38, 2 and 6 yards.

Ryan Palsgrove completed 5 of 11 passes for 85 yards.

Tamaqua (7-2) hosts Marian Catholic.
