District 11 Talk Week 2

Wilson Area

The defending Colonial League champions forced five turnovers and got three touchdowns from Ray Mosby in the second half and they went on for the 35-7 win over Northern Lehigh.

On defense Matt Lippincott had two fumble recoveries and cornerback Brendan Monahan came up with a pair of interceptions.

University of Maryland recruit Tyler Smith completed 12 of 31 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns (one rushing and one passing).

Mosby rushed for 80 yards and three touchdowns (one receiving and two rushing).

Wilson Area hits the road to play Northwestern Lehigh.

Nazareth

Senior wide receiver Dan Wilk’s 6-yard touchdown run with 1:29 left in the game gives Nazareth a 21-14 win over Emmaus.

The biggest play of the game was Wilk’s 76-yard kickoff return that setup his game deciding touchdown.

Chuck Dibilio rushed for 150 yards and one touchdown.

Nazareth (2-0) host’s William Allen next week.

Parkland

Defensive back Dan Castillo intercepted an Anthony Gonzalez pass at the 25-yard line with one minute and 19 seconds left to preserve the win over Liberty 21-14.

Andre Williams rushed for 89 yards including a 36-yard touchdown run.

Parkland’s first two wins were against teams that made the 2008 playoffs.

Parkland (2-0) hosts Easton Area (2-0).

Whitehall

Whitehall edged Freedom 33-30 on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Chris Polony to Andrew Harris with 26.8 seconds to go in the game.

Polony passed for 70 yards.

Whitehall (2-0) travels to Bethlehem to take on the Hawks.
