Week 12 notes:
RUSHING:  Kareem Williams of Parkland ran for 227 yards last week against Whitehall to go over 2,000 yards for his career.  Williams has 1,571 yards for the season (19 td’s) and 2,086 yards for his career (25 td’s).  Niko Petrone of ESS now has 2,049 yards rushing and 29 td’s on the season entering their Thanksgiving day game against Stroudsburg.  Easton’s Shane Simpson and Kyle Bambary both went over 1,000 yards rushing last week against ESS.  Simpson has 1,007 yards and Bambary has 1,001.  Whitehall’s Saquon Barkley finished his junior year with 1,504 yards rushing and scored a total of 27 td’s.  The yardage places him in 3rd all-time at the school for a single season behind Nick Kurtz and James Freeman.  The 27 td’s breaks the school record of 26 held by Eric Fiore who had 26 td’s in 2010.  Schuylkill Haven’s junior runningback William Casella enters the State playoffs with 1,819 yards rushing and 28 td’s.  Teammate Ryan Fink (qb) who missed 2 games, now has 1,131 yards rushing and has scored a total of 16 td’s.  Nick Savant of Saucon Valley rushed for 264 yards and scored a total of 5 td’s against Coughlin.  Savant finishes the year with school records of 2,135 yards rushing and 31 total td’s scored.  Both are currently tops in the District.  His school record career totals are 3,612 yards and 43 total td’s.  Northwestern’s Harry Hall finished the year with 1,571 yards rushing and a total of 18 td’s.  Michael McDaniel of Bethlehem Catholic scored 2 td’s last week and now has 25 on the season.  Ra’Von Burton of Catasauqua scored another 3 td’s against Palisades and now has 22 on the season and 45 for his career.  The 22 td’s ties him with former Buffalo Bills Jonathan Linton for 3rd place all-time at Catasauqua.  Nate Pendry (1997) and Robert Delgado (2002) share the single season record with 23 td’s.  Burton has rushed for 1,481 yards (6th place) this season and 3,704 for his career (2nd behind Jonathan Linton).  Jordan Gray of Nazareth finishes his junior year with 1,313 yards rushing and a total of 21 td’s.  For all-time single season at Nazareth the yardage places him in 10th and the td’s tie him with both Jim Evanko (1976) and Mark Madson (1991) for 8th place.  Gray’s 3 year totals are 3,896 yard rushing and 56 total td’s.  Cole Barnhardt of Williams Valley finishes his career with school records of 3,226 yards rushing and a total of 46 td’s.  Christian Gretzinger of Palisades finishes his junior year with a school record 1,580 yards rushing.  James Stanell held the old record when he rushed for1,451 yards in 2011.  Gretzinger scored a total of 21 td’s this season which ties him for second place at the school with John Gruver.  Gruver had 21 td’s in 2007 and holds the school record when he scored 27 td’s in 2008.

PASSING:  Catasauqua’s Zack Bradley threw for 325 yards and 5 td’s last week to break his own school record of 312 yards and tie his record for td passes in a game.  Bradley upped his District leading and school single season record totals to 2,347 yards and 36 td passes.  Bradley’s career totals are now 4,567 yards and 67 td passes.  His yardage moves him by Josh Hinkle (Dier/CC), Aaron Brown (Dier) and Nathan Hood (Pen Argyl).  He’s 39 yards behind Pleasant Valley’s Brandon Leap for 27th place all-time in the District.  The 67 td passes places him 6th all-time in the District.  Corey Cinicola of Jim Thorpe drops to 7th place with his 64 td passes that he threw from 2006-09.  Travis Edmond of Southern Lehigh finished his junior year with 1,902 yards passing (school record) and 17 td passes.  His career totals stand at 3,487 yards passing (school record) and 31 td passes.  Stephen Sedesse of Williams Valley finished his Viking career passing for 3,233 yards and 45 td passes.  Frank Dangello of Northwestern broke Roland Kern’s single season record of 1,163 yards (2002) and Kyle Stelmack’s career record of 2,276 yards (2006-08) last week in a win over North Schuylkill.  Dangello just a junior, now holds school records for single season yardage (1,306) and td passes (17), and for career yardage (2,396) and td passes (29).  Saucon Valley’s Keith Mosher finished the season with 1,106 yards passing to tie Mike Andree for 5th place all-time for a single season at the school.  Mosher threw 13 td passes this season to place him in 5th all-time at the school.  Nazareth’s Justin Albert threw for 255 yards last week to finish his junior year with 1,650 yards passing (7th all-time at Nazareth).  Sophomore Julian Spigner of Bethlehem Catholic has thrown for 1,323 yards and 15 td’s so far this season.  Neither total cracks the top 10 at Beca yet.  NOTE: Zack Bradley of Catasauqua is 3rd in the State with his 36 td passes.
RECEIVING:  Jacob Del Priore of Southern Lehigh caught nine passes for 196 yards in his final game to finish the year with 64 catches for 1,006 yards and 7 td’s.  Both the catches and yardage are school records.  Del Priore finished his career as the all-time leading receiver at Southern Lehigh with 144 catches, 2,330 yards and 19 td catches.  His 144 catches ties him with Central Catholic’s Jeff McGeehin for 4th place all-time in the District.  Del Priore’s 2,330 yards moves him up three spots to 6th place all-time in the District.  He moves ahead of KJ Williams (Lib), Adam Thomas (Wil) and Matt Salvaterra (Emm).  Catasauqua’s Paryss Marshall caught 5 passes for 137 yards and 2 td’s last week to up his season totals to 62 catches for 1,197 yards and 16 td’s.  Cody Miller of Williams Valley finished his junior season with 27 catches for 785 yards and 13 td catches.  Cam Richardson of Northwestern finished his junior year with 34 catches for 625 yards and 7 td’s catches.  The 34 catches falls one short of the school record held by Payton Bachman who had 35 in 2011.  Richardson’s 625 yards is a school record, breaking Bachman’s record of 568 yards that set in 2011.  His 7 td’s this year and his 9 td’s for his career ties him with his head coach Josh Snyder for the Tigers single season and career records.  NOTE: Marshall is 3rd in the State with 1,197 receiving yards.

THE PAST AND THE PRESENT:  Matt Tuerk of Nazareth joins the “1 year wonders” list of players to only have receptions in their senior season.  Tuerk caught 54 passes for 746 yards and 2 td’s this year.  That’s also his career total and the second straight Nazareth player to accomplish it.  He joins Anthony Gaetinello (Nazareth 35-677-10td’s in 2012), Alex Parker (Catty 37-714-13td’s in 2012),  Doug Ogden (ESS 46-875-11td’s in 2003), Jeramy Albert (Bangor 45-948-8td’s in 1999) and Matt Walters (ESS 41-807-18td’s in 2010).
