State-record holder in career passing yards, Brockway senior QB Derek Buganza has been named this years Edsel Award recipient. The 5-9, 175lb signal caller led the Brockway Rovers into the PIAA Class AA Quarterfinals losing to South Fayette Friday night. Buganza has put up some very good numbers this season throwing for 3,005 yards and 30 TD’s. Some achievements for the 2010 season are as follows:

• Single-season District 9 record for touchdown passes (8 vs Smethport Sept. 19, 2010)

• 26 straight 100-yard passing games between Aug. 29, 2008 and Sept. 24, 2010

• 10 straight 200-yard passing games between Oct. 16, 2009 and Sept. 24, 2010

The Edsel Award is Prep Nation Radio’s “Player Of The Year.” This is the 2nd year for the award and is a combination of fan votes and prepnationradio.com staff opinions. Last year Selinsgrove WR Ryan Keiser took home the award.
