Here we go with the exciting news from District 2 action this past Week No. 4.

ABINGTON HEIGHTS rolled to its 4th straight win with a 48-7 pasting of WEST SCRANTON. The Comets continue to look good in the AAAA Class. Another surprising story on the year is NORTH POCONO, who pulled out a tough 14-13 win at WALLENPAUPACK over a previously undefeated Buckhorn team. The Trojans are off to a 4-0 start for the first time in many years. Last season the Trojans recorded a mere 3 wins all season. Former Trojan great, Jason Sepkowski is Head Coach and has his alma mater back on track and put the swagger back in the black and red of NORTH POCONO. One can only remember Sepkowski and his teammates in a stunning Eastern Conference Championship in 1991 over a highly heralded BERWICK BULLDOG team led by QB, Ron Powlus. Other Trojan stars of that year included, Keith Olsommer (now Head Coach of DELAWARE VALLEY), Charles Lucke, Larry Shumbres, Ryan McGee, and Trojan Head Coach, Nick Donato (now with SCRANTON PREP). Congratulations to Jason and NORTH POCONO for putting the Trojan program back on track.

In other AAAA action, SCRANTON improves to 3-1, while WALLENPAUPACK remains very much in the hunt at 3-1. For the smaller schools in AA and A competition, DUNMORE looks good again by besting LAKELAND 35-8 in a battle of perennial foes. The Bucks are simply too much this year for the Chiefs. OLD FORGE looks very impressive and remains undefeated courtesy of a nice 34-6 win over previously unbeaten HANOVER AREA. The Blue Devils continue to show great offense and a stingy defense, which have led the way to an undefeated season to date. MID VALLEY moved up to 3-1 with a 47-8 victory over NANTICOKE, while WESTERN WAYNE continues to impress by beating MONTROSE 36-8.

Rounding out other action, RIVERSIDE gets into the win column with a nice 24-6 win over VALLEY VIEW, who unfortunately for the Cougars fall to 0-4. HAZLETON AREA handled DELAWARE VALLEY 19-0. CARBONDALE bested WILKES-BARRE MEYERS 33-14. LAKE LEHMAN blasted LACKAWANNA TRAIL 46-19.

Good Luck to all teams in the upcoming Week No. 5.

See You On The Sidelines!
