2014 Team Preview: West Chester East (1)

Q. What are the key things we should know about your offense?

A. Our offensive line is anchored by our SR LT Co-Captain Kevin Murphy (UCONN). We are returning 4 out of 5 starters on the offensive line.

SR Co-Captain returns to lead our wide receiver corp. Pat Downey had 45 receptions last year.

JR QB Jon Jon Roberts returns to lead the offense for his third straight year. Jon Jon threw for 2600 yards last year and ran for over 800 yards.

Our offense is very balanced as far as run/pass ratio. We are mainly a spread offense and we will huddle a majority of the time. We want to grind out wins this year in the 4^th quarter with our running game.

Overall we return eight starters on the offense.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your defense?

A. Our defense returns four starters from a group that gave up 33 ppg. SR Co Captain Kevin Murphy will move around from DE and DT to fortify our front.

SR Evan Anderson returns as our free safety. Evan had seven interceptions last season.

Also Returning is JR ILB Steve Phelan. Steve started every game last year as a sophomore.

Sr Co Captain OLB Zach Casey returns as OLB.

Defensively we are playing more of an attacking style really focusing on stopping the run. We have good size across our Defensive Front, not a ton of experience but tough kids.

Q. What are the key things we should know about your special teams? Who are your kick and punt returners? Who are your kicker and punter?

A. Kick Returners are seniors David Bond and Nick Corialos.

Punt Retuner is Nick Corialos. Nick is very shifty and will always make the 1^st person miss. Bond is a track star and has great acceleration.

Our Kicker and Punter is SR Cole Baldyga who has eight touchbacks on his resume. Cole has a big leg and will be kicking in a college program next season.

We spent a lot of time as a program working on special teams. Special Teams will play a huge role in our success this season.
