Head Coach Michael Ferriero Q&A

Q. What are the key things we should know about your offense?

A. The offense will be new so I am hoping the kids will catch on quickly.  We have experienced all over the place so it should make the transition smooth.

Up front we have four senior linemen led by one of our captains Brandon Benfer.

At RB we have our other two captains, Logan Aikey and Drew Newcomb, who will add a little thunder and lightning.

At WR we have Noah Inch and Matt Fedorjaka.  Noah will be able to stretch defenses with his speed and Matt is a big target for the QB’s to throw to.

We are in the middle of a QB battle between Trent Henger and Trent Gower so hopefully I have that figured out before week 1.

 

Q. What are the key things we should know about your defense?

A. We are strong defensively as well and we will give teams multiple looks.  Most of those kids on offense will play defense so we will have experience there as well.

Logan Aikey will return as MLB and Drew Newcomb will be at FS.

Having them on the field is like having two coaches on the field so it is great to have them.

 

Q. What are the key things we should know about your special teams? Who are your kick and punt returners? Who are your kicker and punter?

A. Max Reed will return as Kicker and possibly Punter.  Anthony Passaniti, who runs Cross Country but used to play soccer, will compete with Max for the Kicking duties.

Noah Inch can also punt so we are just waiting to see how things play out there. We have four kids who can return kicks in AJ Ramirez, Cyrus Perez, Drew Newcomb, and Noah Inch.

Two of those kids will be on the field but I cannot tell which two at this time.
