His sophomore campaign was productive, completing 106 of 189 passes (56.1%) for 1,780 yards and 15 touchdowns, while posting a 101.3 quarterback rating. On film, Ortiz displays good pocket awareness, throws with solid touch on intermediate routes, and isn’t afraid to challenge defenses vertically when opportunities arise. He keeps his eyes downfield while extending plays and shows the poise expected from a multi-year starter. His 4.8-second speed also gives him enough athleticism to escape pressure and create outside the pocket when needed.

A 3.8 GPA, 3rd Team All-Conference, and Midd-Penn Honorable Mention selection highlight the complete package both on and off the field. As a Class of 2028 quarterback, Ortiz has plenty of upside, and continued growth in decision-making, consistency, and arm strength could make him one of the rising signal-callers to watch in the Mid-Penn Conference over the next two seasons.
