Central York defeats undefeated William Penn

William Penn started its opening possession on their own 35 yard line but fumbled the ball away to Central York.  Central York capitalized on the turnover when Senior RB DJ Harrison scored on a 28 yard TD run giving Central York the early 7-0 lead. 

William Penn started its next possession on the 37 yard line and drove the ball all the way inside of the Central York 20 yard line but were unable to convert on a fourth down and short and turned the ball over on downs. 

Harrison had two more great runs on Centrals next possession.  Harrison scored again on another 28 yard TD run making the score 14-0 Central York.  William Penn went to work on itʼs next drive starting from the 28 yardline.  On second down from their own 31 William Penn scored on a 69 yard TD pass to Senior WR Malik Generett thrown by Senior QB Jordan Davis.  The score was now 14-7 in favor of Central York. 

On Central Yorkʼs next possession they drove the ball all the way to the William Penn eight yard line but had to settle for a 25 yard FG goal by Senior K Alex Kelly.  The score was now Central York 17 William Penn 7. 

On William Pennʼs  next opportunity with the ball they caught a break when Central York committed a penalty on a sack giving them a first down.  William Penn took advantage when Davis and Generett hooked up again on a 40 yard TD pass making the score 17-14 at the end of the first quarter.  On Central Yorkʼs next possession they missed a 43 yard field goal giving William Penn nice field position.  William Penn wasnʼt able to take advantage of the field position and had to punt the ball back to Central York.  Central York then had a great 85 yard TD pass called back on a penalty. 

William Penn missed another great opportunity when they just missed an interception.  On a 3rd and 16 Senior QB Brandon Workinger ran for a first down but the drive stalled and Central York had to punt the ball to William Penn.  On the punt, Senior WR Andre Callum fumbled the ball back to Central York on the 17 yardline giving Central York great field position.  On 2nd down Harrison ran for yet another TD making the score 24-14 Central York. 

On William Pennʼs next possession they drove the ball inside the 20 of Central York and scored on another Davis TD pass this time to Senior WR Barry Bowman from the 10 yardline making it a 3 point game.  Central York was unable to move the ball into scoring position and had to punt on its next possession.  With little time left in the half William Penn chose to take a Knee and go into half down 24-21.  Central York got the ball to start the 2nd half on the 45 yardline.  William Pennʼs defense tightened up and forced Central York to settle for a 39 yard Kelly FG making the score Central York 27 William Penn 21. 

Davis fumbled on William Pennʼs next possession but William Penn recovered the fumble.  William Penn had to punt the ball back to Central York.  Central York scored on its opportunity with the ball on another Kelly FG the score was now 30-21.  William Penn started its opportunity with the ball on the 14.  They where unable to move the ball and had to punt. 

At the end of the third quarter the score was still 30-21.  Central York was unable to move into scoring range and had to punt the ball back to William Penn.  William Penn also punted on its next possession. 

Central York got the ball in good field position after the punt only traveled 10 yards.  Once again Central York settled for a Kelly FG making the score Central York 33 William Penn 21.  William Penn got the ball to the 25 of Central York on a nice pass by Davis to Generett.  Davis was sacked on the drive setting up a 4th and 18. 

William Penn went for it on the 4th and 18 and Davis was sacked again giving the ball back to Central York.  Central York took advantage and scored on a 55 yard TD run by Harrison.  The score was now Central York 40 William Penn 21. 

On William Pennʼs next opportunity with the ball they drove the ball down the field on consistent passing by Davis.  William Penn went for it on fourth and four but were unable to convert and turned the ball over on downs.  Central York used a good dose of running to run time off the clock and then punted the ball back to William Penn.  The game ended with the final score of Central York 40-William Penn 21.
