District 1 Talk Week 9

Abington

Anthony Hensley scored three touchdowns and Julien Ireland added another score as Abington defeated previously undefeated Pennsbury 27-13.

Hensley caught four passes for 70 yards and Ireland rushed for 93 yards.

Quarterback Phil Kind completed 16 of 25 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns.

Abington (7-2) finishes the regular season at Harry S. Truman.

Bayard Rustin

Bayard Rustin scored on its first three possessions en route to a 44-0 convincing win over Great Valley.

Running back Rondell White rushed for 167 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of 11 and 39 yards. He also had a 78-yard punt return.

Rustin finished the game with 10 first downs and 361 yards of total offense.

Bayard Rustin (9-0) hosts Oxford.

Garnet Valley

Garnet Valley denied Ridley’s title as Jeremy Irving sacked Ridley’s Colin Masterson just as time expired to seal a 20-14 Garnet Valley win over Ridley.

Fullback Alex Warden rushed for 116 yards on 14 carries. He also caught two passes for 88 yards and scored two touchdowns.

Quarterback Mark McHugh completed 5 of 15 passes for 139 yards and one score.

Kicker Dan Acchione made two field goals of 30 and 31 yards.

Garnet Valley (8-1) hosts Lower Merion.

Pottsgrove

Kayvon Greene rushed for 136 yards on eight carries and three touchdowns to lead Pottsgrove in a rout over Upper Perkiomen 62-20.

Quarterback Terrell Chestnut rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Chestnut completed 3 of 5 passes for 40 yards.

The Falcons rushed for 385 yards of their 420 total yards offense.

Pottsgrove (9-0) travels to Phoenixville.
