Any ranking will have to be adjusted as the games are played. I think the initial rankings are certainly decent. The monster team in the East will have to be recognized now that three weeks have passed. 43-0…..41-0….54-0
You can do it now, or do it later. It is not the Mt Carmel tornadoes, though they will have to play the monster in a few weeks.

  2. kdizzy says:

Okay why are NO northeast Pa AAA teams in the top 10, that’s ridiculous. I can assure abington heights, the dawgs, n. pocono, and dallas are better than most of those teams in the top 10

  3. District 4 says:

Well i guess we’ll see how good Mount Carmel is when they play a good Lewisburg team on friday. If Lewisburg can go to the infamous Silver Bowl and beat Mount Carmel then that will speak for itself in terms of how good they are and if they truly deserve a ranking.

  4. flippenphil says:

From what i watched — the seals were forced to use the 2nd string running backs for the Champianship game, so unless the entire 1st and 2ns string running backs who dominated against MC last year were all seniors.. aswell as the entire sideline was full of jacked players, so unless those big guys who came in every few downs to take a play were also all seniors… Seliensgrove should be returning a decent team of players who have gotten dirty and played some crucial plays last year against strong opponents.
MC i think should be an HM.

Another thing, every year pottsville improves slowly over the season – watch out because they started the season with a win – last 3 times that happened they won districts and the first 2 times no one had the, state ranked in the preseason. maybe we sill see a crimson surprise come november and december?

  5. Jimbo says:

I believe Daniel Boone moved up to AAAA this year.

  6. Shawn Weller says:

Preseason rankings mean nothing, early season rankings mean little, and end-of-season rankings mean everything. If Mount Carmel deserves a ranking (which I believe they do considering the field), they will earn it with continued wins.

  7. Anthracite & Soupies says:

I realize Selinsgrove lost a bunch of people, but you’re telling me Mount Carmel doesn’t deserve to be mentioned among the top 30 (when you include all of the honorable mentions above) AA Programs in the state? Please.

  8. District 4 says:

Because Selinsgrove is a completely different team from last year, losing nearly every single starter they had. Also, I was at the Milton game and they lost to Lewisburg 35-3, not 35-10.

  9. Anthracite & Soupies says:

How is it that AA Mt. Carmel beat last year’s AAA undefeated champion, Selinsgove, at Selinsgrove, and not get even an honorable mention?

And no, I’m not a Mt. Carmel fan.
