Jim Roth hands down…If you look at accomplishments (State, District, & League Champions) it’s not even really an argument compared to anyone else. You have to compliment the entire SCA staff for being together for so long and mostly all being part of the State Record 6 State Championships the school has

One of the staff here got back to me about that. Beck, if I recall, is 106 wins & 16 loses. Comes to a .854 wining percentage.

@buddy, i know for a fact beck has 105 wins total for his career(win #100came against souderton last year), im not sure about loses but i think its around 25 or so

I played for both Ron Ryback and Jack Jones. To say that Jack Jones teams couldn’t compare with Coach Jackson’s wouldn’t be fair. Coach Jones had some team’s that would have won state title’s if that format was in existance at the time. His teams were dominant in the early 70’s. 72,73,74, and 75. They beat up on a team with a guy you may remember Jimmy Cefalo. Ryback’s teams allways had the players but he was to layed back as a coach. As for coach Jackson He is the best old school coach in the state. His will and desire transcend to his players year in and year out. If you knew him off the field, he is the nicest guy and would do anything for his players.

First of all, I’m not questioning Jackson’s football pedigree…obviously great. So RickD, what you’re saying is the end always justifies the means. Hey, if you gotta break a few rules/eggs then so be it right? I’m saying winning isn’t worth what he was suspended for. Clearly Dallas feels otherwise since he’s still there. There was a team in D1 (Pius) who had a similar situation, a winning, potty-mouth coach. Even though they won, they were a Catholic school and couldn’t put up with it. They fired him and never won again (school is shuttered now). The coach? He went to a nearby public school that was a perennial league doormat and made them consistently big winners. You either have principles or you win. Look at Penn State vs tOSU. Now we know why tOSU never had a down year. Get it? You sound like a young ‘un so you probably don’t remember any of those squads anyway. So you don’t know what EVEN CLOSE means. Rybak and Jones both had teams that I would stack up against Jackson’s title team.

You are correct about Dallas having a successful football program. I remember some of the teams Jack Jones had. But nothing EVEN CLOSE to what Coach Jackson has put together YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT. Rybak’s last few years were a disaster, including a nearly winless or winless season before Jackson took over. Jackson then took the program to a completely different level. But like you said, “all he did was win a state title”.

You are clueless. Check Rybak’s record before Jackson took over. It was awful. The most humorous part of your post is “other than winning a state title”. That’s all he did huh?

Ted Jackson is legendary for some other things too…off the field. Some of which have contributed to his recent suspension. He’s a “builder of men” because he has a winning record. Dallas has always had a winning program. Other than winning a state title, he didn’t do anything at Dallas that previous coaches like Rybak and Jones did. I don’t think there was a state title in football when Jones and Rybak coached. At minimum, a) someone needs to wash his mouth out with soap, and b) the WVC refs need to find a backbone and start flagging him for his abuse on the sidelines.
