In 1959 Delhaas’ record was 5-4-1, beating Wm. Tennent 7-6, Delhaas had its first two years of winning football in 1958 (6-4) and 1959 (5-4-1) lead by head coach Vincent Tomasetti, who started in 1956 coming from Old Forge, PA. I have newspaper clippings to verify this information if desired. Note: Coach Tomasetti’s son centered for Boomer Esiason at U of Maryland and his nephew Barry Tomasetti played for the U of Iowa and went on to the NFL.)

In 1959 Delhaas beat traditional central New Jersey football powerhouse Freehold, NJ, 12-7 (yes, Bruce Springsteen’s home town of songs “My Hometown” and “Glory Days”).

What is the history of the old Wilson Stadium at corner of Mill Creek Road and green Lane? I know it was recently renovated. When did it open? Remember it was called Henry C Morgan Stadium in the 70’s

I was wondering if you know what Woodrow Wilsons jerseys looked like in the 1960’s. Bristol is demolishing the elementary schools & auctioning off the school contents, in the lasted auction they also pulled stuff from the warehouse which included old jerseys which I purchased. There are jerseys from about the 90’s but also old cotton knit ones with gold numbers sewn on & no school name, they have 3/4″ baseball sleeves & were made by Wilson. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated as I’m dead in the water with my searches. Thank you Vickie

The first and second winning football seasons were 1958 when the record was 6 – 4 and 1959 when the record was 5 – 4 -1 under coach Vince Tomasetti, who returned to Old Forge, PA when Bristol Township split Delhaas High School to include Woodrow Wilson HS beginning the 1959 season when they went 1 – 7..
