Utah bound Jack Tuttle’s 2 touchdown passes paces Mission HIlls in win over Mater Dei

Mission Hills High School-San Marcos, CA-9-8-17: After a 41-14 defeat at the hands of Mater Dei High School in Chula Vista, things went the “Grizzlies” way on their home football field of sorts but tonight’s game was a National Football Foundation contest in San Diego as a lot of other high school games were played all over the United States of America.
In tonight”s contest the Grizzlies returned the favor as they defeated the Crusaders by a 56-7 score on 2 Jack Tuttle passes (16 completions out of 23 attempts for 144 yards) of 16 and Chris Olave (6 receptions for 112 yards) for 39 yards, Sam Dixon’s (4 carries for 18 yards) 2 touchdown runs of 2 and 1 yards each and teammate Damien Wigand’s (17 carries for 138 yards) scored 2 touchdown runs of 11 and 6 yards. Backup players Alan Arellano (4 carries for 54 yards) also contributed on a 15 yard touchdown run and Nathan Barraga 1 carry for 3 scored on a 3 yard run.
Mission HIlls qb JackTuttle on his performance vs. Mater Dei: “We won big today I support my teammates they did a great job I am very satisfied that we are 3-0 and hope to be 4-0 next Friday My passing was well today and give my offensive line that did the blocking that is how we won.”
Mater Dei scored their only touchdown in the first quarte as Aiden Calvert scored on a 99 yard kickoff return in the first quarter tied the game at 7-7.
One player from each school were named the Most Valuable Player and will be invited to travel to the National Football Foundation Banquet in April of 2018. The Most Valuable Players were from Mater Dei was Aiden Calvert and for Mission HIlls was Damien Wigand
With the win the Grizzlies of Mission Hills will travel to Carlsbad High School next Friday night in a 7:00 pm contest
