First ten week predictions go 37-8

This is it, the second season begins and the teams with the best records in the regular season are now entering a single elimination playoff. These squads worked hard for the higher seeds and just one loss ends any hope of that championship year.

One of the top ranked teams in Ed Thomas’ Southeastern Pa Top 10 suffered a late season setback when Downingtown East fell to West Chester Henderson. That victory propelled Henderson into the last available District One AAAA playoff berth and an all expenses paid trip to number one seed Ridley on Friday night. The rest of the top five LaSalle, Ridley, North Penn and Archbishop Wood all held their positions with final game wins.

Last week this prognosticator did well with a 4-1 prediction record as. Penn Wood, Ridley, Neshaminy and Strath Haven won as predicted while West Chester Henderson shocked Downingtown East for the only failed call in week ten..

The last four years, this future teller has a 194-70 prognostication record and a 2010 record of 37-8.

This week every game is meaningful and losers go home for the cold winter while victors live another week of championship dreams. One of the dream teams is defending District One Champions Ridley facing the upset ready West Chester Henderson Warriors. The Warriors have quite a task ahead of them for the second straight week. The Green Raiders attack by ground and by air. QB Sean Blundin can just handoff the Jalen Randolph or pass downfield to Dion Shaw. Most high school defenses can only handle the run or the pass but Ridley hits both ways. The only shot Henderson has is Ridley turnovers and this won’t happen in round one.

Prediction: Ridley 31 West Chester Henderson 14

The next game to consider is a District 12 AAA championship game between Archbishop Wood and Cardinal O’Hara on Saturday night. Wood won the regular season match 48-34 just two weeks ago. With QB Joe Monaghan supported by running back Desmon Peoples it will be another long night for the Lion defense.

Prediction: Archbishop Wood 38 Cardinal O’Hara 28

Here is the rest of this weeks fearless five forecast:

Prediction: Strath Haven 28 Upper Perkiomen 10

Prediction: Coatesville 34 Central Bucks West 13

Prediction: North Penn 37 Penn Wood 12
