Ridley RB Jalen Randolph receiving D-1 attention

The Ridley Green Raiders are one of those programs few outsiders know a lot about, save for the fact the program is Pennsylvania’s winningest (in terms of percentage of games won), has produced two 200-game winning coaches (Phil Marion & Joe McNicholas) and played in three PIAA semifinals (1990, 2007, 2009).

But it will be hard to keep running back Jalen Randolph a secret, as the senior-to-be is generating some notable Division-1 interest.

Randolph, a 6’1, 210-pound athlete, has received interest, but no verbal offers, from eight Division-1 programs, according to national recruiting service Scout.com. To date, Randolph has heard from Illinois, Penn State, Pitt, Purdue, Stanford, Temple, UCLA and West Virginia, according to Scout.

Randolph finished the 2010 season as the Green Raiders’ leading rusher, racking up more than 900 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. He was also a factor in Ridley’s ground attack as a sophomore, running for 668 yards and 10 scores through the team’s first 14 games. In the last two seasons, Randolph has scored 24 rushing touchdowns and run for more than 1,500 yards, helping the green and white to an overall record of 23-4 in that span.

Ridley finished 10-2 last season, running off 10 consecutive victories and earning the #1 seed in the District 1 AAAA playoffs, but was surprisingly upset by #16-seed West Chester Henderson, 14-13.
