Perkiomen Valley vs. Frankford
The Friday night lights were in full swing as Perkiomen Valley Vikings claimed their second victory of the season over Frankford with a final score of 46 to 24.
The Vikings were quick to produce with a touchdown pass to #25 Justin Jaworski. The point after was good and things slowed down until a bit more than four minutes left in the first quarter when David Williams ran it in to score again. Garrett Patla followed up with the extra point. Just afterward, Frankford made the pass to the end zone but failed to make the two-point conversion and the quarter ended 14-6 Perk Valley.
The second quarter started strong as well with a drive to the end zone with the first down secured. A rush up the middle to the end zone and another extra point made it 21-6 Vikings with eight minutes left in the first half.
Frankford then made a successfully drive but with another failed two-point conversion leaving them behind nine points. Stephen Sturm connected with Jaworski with a deep pass taken even further by Justin’s hustle. This was followed up with a touchdown pass to Jaworski and another extra point.
Frankford was quick to respond with a touchdown themselves but yet again attempted, and failed, the two-point conversion. The quarter wasn’t over as another score producing pass was made to #25. This was followed up with a rush up the middle for a two-point conversion leaving the first half finished with a score of 36 to 18.
The second half opened up with a touch back. The teams had reached a stalemate and it wasn’t broken until another touchdown pass for Perk Valley with an extra point leaving the quarter half over. The quarter ended as it started, quietly.
The fourth quarter picked up where the third left off, without much action. Frankford came close to the end zone with an absolutely amazing pass down field. This was followed up with the last touchdown of the game but another failed conversion. The game went until the clock was almost dry and a Frankford player sustained a possible injury.
The Perkiomen Valley Vikings have shown again that they are ready to take the field and take home the victory. Hopefully their two game strike continues next week against Pennridge
