North Penn’s Matt Ammendola sets school record for longest field goal

Last Friday night, junior kicker Matt Ammendola kicked a 56-yard field goal in a 44-14 win over Souderton.

He broke the previous record held by Brandon McManus of 54-yards.

Where does Matt’s 56-yard kick rank all-time? According to Wikipedia PIAA Football Records, Matt’s kick is ranked third all-time.

Bishop Hoban’s Gerry McGroathy holds the record for the longest field goal at 64-yards in 2003.

After a 0-3 start, North Penn has won seven straight wins and qualified for the District 1 AAAA playoffs. They play Coatesville this Friday night.
