Since the end of last season, the Muhlenberg Muhls football team has been waiting for this night.  Training for hours in the weight room and two a days in the hot August sun led to a fired up Muhls team.  They did not disappoint on Friday night at home against Conwell Egan.

They started off on their first drive with a seven yard run from Frank German to take the early lead.  The Muhls would not look back as they scored 34 points in the first half.  The highlight of the first half on the offensive side was a 61 yard pass from junior quarterback Adam Huber to wide reciever Zach Waltz.  Waltz caught the ball along the sideline, kept his balance and ran in the endzone for his first touchdown of the scholastic football season.  Eli Quinter had the defensive highlights in the first half with two interceptions.

The Muhls kept up the intensity in the third quarter scoring first on a ten yard run by Smith.  On the pursuing kickoff , Conwell Egan returned the kickoff 88 yards.  The Eagles looked like they could be making an attempt at a comeback when recovering an onside kick on the kickoff, but the Muhls defense stopped them. The Muhls gained the victory with a final of 48-6.  The Muhlenberg High School team has a bright season ahead of them.  They showed a team unity with spreading the ball around for mutliple scores by five different players.

The Muhls will gear up again Friday night in Laureldale aganist Northern York, looking for their second win of the season.
