The Cavs were coming off a disappointing 59-30 lost to Parkland in the District 11 Class 4A semifinal game. The Cavs had no problems today, scoring on two of their first three possessions.

Quarterback Robbie Moyer talked about last week and today’s Thanksgiving game saying, “We lost to Parkland and it sucked. We only had a couple of days to get ready for the Thanksgiving game. We had to toss the loss behind us and get ready for Thanksgiving Day.”

The Cavs did just that jumping out to a 14-0 lead. Moyer hit Cason for a 44-yard touchdown pass and Kyshoen Jarrett scored on a two-yard run with 2:58 to go in the first quarter.

Moyer and Cason would connect again, this time on a 43-yard touchdown pass for another score. The Cavs would go into halftime with a commanding 21-0 lead.

East Stroudsburg South opened up the second half by scoring on their first two possessions. Moyer would fine the end zone twice in the third quarter.

The play of the day came when Moyer threw down the middle as a Stroudsburg defender tipped the pass. The tipped ball went right into the hands of Greg Kessel who took the catch 44-yards to the end zone.

With 5:07 to go in the quarter Moyer would hit Cason for a 16-yard touchdown pass. That was the third time Moyer and Cason hooked up for a score.

At the end of the third quarter East Stroudsburg South led 35-0. The Cavs players were smelling turkey!

In the fourth quarter Ed Christian would put his reserves in. Backup quarterback Mike Carmella would get the final score, Carmella’s 46-yard run with 5:33 gave the Cavs a 42-0 lead and win.

East Stroudsburg South head coach Ed Christian talked to his team after the game and said, “Seniors I can’t express what you meant to this ball club. The mantle is now passed from the seniors to the younger players.”

Cason finished the game with five catches for 144 yards and three touchdowns. Moyer ‘s 366 yards put him over 2,500 yards this season, finishing with 2,735 yards and 35 touchdowns this season. Cason finished the year with 57 catches for 1,084 yards and 20 touchdowns.
