The last time we reported on Manheim Central defensive end Dakota Royer, he was the recipient of seven Division-1 offers, and had interest from seven other programs.

The number of offers for Royer has expanded, as might have been expected.  Royer is now up to 11 Division-1 offers, the second-highest total among Pennsylvania athletes in the class of 2010 with Division-1 potential.

As of February 22, according to Rivals.com, Royer has offers from the following schools:  Penn State, Pitt, Temple, Rutgers, Maryland, Stanford, Illinois, Michigan State, UCONN, Notre Dame, and Kentucky.

The only athlete in the Keystone State with more D-1 offers than Royer, to date, is Cardinal O’Hara running back Corey Brown, who figures to be one of the top recruits not only in the state, but in the country.

Royer has been a force defensively for Manheim Central each of the last two seasons.  Royer has totaled 188 tackles and 21.5 sacks in that span.

But #40 also became a big threat on the offensive side of the ball.  He ran for 271 yards, added 56 catches for 1,099 yards, and scored nine touchdowns this past season.

The 1,099 receiving yards are the second-highest single season total in school history.  Graham Zug, currently at Penn State, set the single season record in 2005.

Rivals.com’s class of 2010 lists 93 Keystone State athletes as reported Division-1 prospects in its position-by-position breakdowns.  Bishop McDevitt leads all Pennsylvania schools with eight D-1 prospects in the Class of ’10.  WPIAL rep Gateway is second with four.
