Karam leads Abington Heights; Comets advance

vinceweek112013Abington Heights redeemed themselves after a week 7 loss to Scranton Prep (21-13) with a 31-26 against the same opponent. The Comets (10-1) advanced to the District 2 Class AAA championship next week against the winner of tomorrow’s matchup between Crestwood (9-1) and Berwick (10-0).

Abington Heights got on the board first midway through the first quarter on a Quinn Karam 24 yard scamper to give the Comets a 7-0 lead. Back came the Cavaliers on a Nick Solfanelli strike to bring Scranton Prep within a single point (7-6).

In the second quarter, the Comets outscored the Cavs 21-7 on a pair of Karam touchdown runs (30 and 50). Number 34 had three touchdown runs in the game. He had 5 entering the contest.

Despite a second half rally, Scranton Prep fell to 10-1.
