Josh Sands to be Head Coach of Valley Forge Military Academy Football

Valley Forge Military Academy and College is extremely pleased to announce Josh Sands as the Head Football Coach of the Valley Forge Military Academy football team.  Coach Sands has been the Academy Registrar since 2010. He also coached the Academy offensive and defensive lines in the 2010 season, and served as the defensive coordinator during the 2011 season.

His coaching career began during the 2005 football season at his college alma mater, Shippensburg University, when he worked as a Student Assistant Coach. He then moved on to Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island where he was an assistant coach working on defense with the linebackers. In 2008, he transitioned to high school coaching at Indian Valley High School located in Lewistown, PA where he coached both the offensive and defensive lines. In 2009, he moved to Juniata High School in Mifflintown, PA again coaching the offensive and defensive lines.

Sands grew up in Doylestown, PA and played on two Class AAAA State Championship teams (1998 & 1999) at Central Bucks West High School. He went onto play college football at Shippensburg University where he was a four year starter as center on the offensive line. In his senior year, the Shippensburg team won the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship.

Josh currently resides in Doylestown, PA.
