(Shillington, PA) Reading High was flying high after four games.  The Red Knights came into Saturdays matchup with Governor Mifflin (4-0).  The big question was whether these were quality opponents.  Reading had beaten teams that had a combined one win.  Governor Mifflin came into its Saturday Homecoming game (1-3).  Mifflin though had played a significantly tougher schedule.  Governor Mifflin started fast and on the legs of Sophomore Nick Singleton blew past Reading High 49-6.

Singleton was the star of the show for Governor Mifflin.  Nick had all of his TD’s in the first half on only seven carries that totaled 236 first half yards.  CamRon Stewart and Brandon Strausser each had a pick six to pace the Mustang defensive effort.

Nick Singleton praised his teammates and coaches following the game.  Nick also said “the team looks up to me, so if I am scoring they all get hyped. I always want to be a leader.”
CamRon Stewart credited his coaching staff for the game plan against Reading.  “our coaches spend three to four days a week on the film, and our game plan todays shows the work.”

Mifflin received the kick, and the scoring avalanche started on the second play.  Nick Singletons 66 yard score made it 7-0 at the 11:07 mark.  Reading High got the ball back and immediately CamRon Stewart takes it 27 yards for a TD  Less than one minute in it was 14-0 Governor Mifflin over Reading High.

Mifflin next score was a Nick SIngleton 15 yard sweep that made it 21-0 with 4:07 left in the opening quarter. SIngleton from 17 on the next Mustang possession made it 28-0.

In the second quarter it was all Mifflin and all Nick Singleton again.  A 49 yard bust by Nick made it 35-0 Mifflin over Reading High  with 7:55 until halftime.

Reading High was  still playing hard.  A nice interception by Trace Brown gave Reading High good field position but the Mifflin D allowed no points.

Mifflin get the ball back and two plays later, you know who, Mr. Singleton with a 75 yard gem    42-0 as we went to halftime  Singleton had 7 carries, 236 yards and FIVE TD’s in the first half.

Brandon Strausser ha a pick six for Mifflin.  Elijah Williams had  nice 86 yard  TD run for Reading High.
