Here we go with the exciting action from this past weekend No. 8. Wow, the playoffs are just 3 weeks away.

In a big AA battle, DUNMORE continues its winning ways by handling VALLEY VIEW 35-14. The Bucks showed they are truly worthy of their No. 2 ranking in the State. The Cougars played the Bucks tough throughout the first half, but in the end DUNMORE had just too much explosive firepower to contain resulting in the Bucks bid for an undefeated season.

In A competition, OLD FORGE stayed perfect by way of a 53-6 pasting of LACKAWANNA TRAIL. The A Class in District 2 has certainly come full cycle now with the Blue Devils obviously defeating the Lions, who once were perennial favorites in the A category. OLD FORGE hopes to remain perfect in the remaining weeks.

CARBONDALE, which lost a tough one point game to OLD FORGE just one week ago, pulled out an impressive 13-0 shutout over MID VALLEY, which had rode the momentum of a 6 game win streak going into the contest. The Chargers will look to be a significant spoiler in the final games and may be a big surprise with talent come playoff time.

In a rain delayed game played Sunday afternoon in front of its annual Homecoming crowd, the Comets of ABINGTON HEIGHTS were simply too much for SCRANTON in a 35-0 shutout victory. ABINGTON HEIGHTS continues to impress and will be a tough foe for anyone down the road in the AAA Class. In fact, a rematch come playoff time between the Comets and the Trojans of NORTH POCONO looks likely, especially with the Trojans convincing 42-0 blasting of MONTROSE. NORTH POCONO and ABINGTON HEIGHTS are both worthy selections in the AAA Class from District 2.

In other action, WESTERN WAYNE outlasted RIVERSIDE 10-8, while LAKELAND surprised SCRANTON PREP 25-14. WALLENPAUPACK beat HONESDALE 48-6, and DELAWARE VALLEY nipped WEST SCRANTON 28-24.

Good Luck to all teams in the upcoming Week No. 9.
