East Stroudsburg South is coming off of one of its best seasons in recent memory. And the Cavaliers enter 2010 with one of the most sought after defensive backs in the eastern half of Pennsylvania.

Kyshoen Jarrett, a 5’11, 175-pound senior-to-be, has 11 Division-1 scholarship offers according to his profile on Rivals.com. The bulk of Jarrett’s offers come from schools among the Big 10, Big East, ACC, and Mid-American conferences.

Jarrett has received offers from Akron, Cincinnati, UCONN, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Pitt, Syracuse, Temple and Virginia. Notre Dame, Penn State and Rutgers have shown interest, but not extended an offer, according to Rivals.

Jarrett did a little bit of everything as a junior. He’s being recruited as a defensive back, and he registered 37 tackles and picked off three passes. But Jarrett also played a fairly significant role in the Cavaliers’ offense – he ran for 596 yards and six touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 260 yards, averaging 11.25 yards per carry and over 17 yards per reception.

As a sophomore, Jarrett posted 45 tackles, two interceptions and three fumble recoveries.

Jarrett was a part of an ESS defense that allowed 158 points last season (12.1 ppg) and held eight of 13 opponents to seven points or less, with three shutouts.  ESS finished 11-2 overall, falling to Parkland in the District XI “AAAA” semifinals, 59-30.
