2011 season

Wilson finished the season with a 12-2 record. After an opening loss to Governor Mifflin, the Bulldogs won 12 straight games. They had nice wins against Manheim Central, Manheim Towhship and Penn Manor during the regular season.

They made it to the District 3 4A final. They lost to Central Dauphin.

Seth Klein completed 146 of 234 passes for 2,133 yards and 20 touchdowns. The leading rusher was Rodney Gillin. He rushed for 1,733 yards on 240 carries and 19 touchdowns.

Jacob Morgan was the top receiver. He caught 69 passes for 1,121 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Q & A with Wilson head football coach Doug Dahms

We sat down with Dahms and talked to him about his team for the 2012 season.

How is your camp going this summer?

We are trying to dust off the rust and get back to hitting. The kids are ready for opening day.

Who do you have coming back on offense?

We have a starting center coming back and his name is Sam Hartman (5-10, 238). There is a battle at the tackle positions. There are about four or five guys battling. Jacob Schannauer (6-0, 235) will be one of the guards. The other guard spot will be determined.

We have two tight ends coming back. They are Matt Rothrock (6-2, 240) and Junior Joseph (6-3, 240). Our third tight end is Madison Miller (6-3, 216).

We have about six or seven guys trying out for wide receiver.

There are three guys battling for the quarterback spot. They are Kevin Weller (6-1, 219), Kyle Gaynor (5-9, 165) and Matt Timochenko (6-1, 191). One of those three will be the starter.

It will be tailback by committee, Jesse Poore (5-10, 155), Jim Brooks (5-8, 165) and John Raifsnider (5-7, 171).

Our fullbacks will rotate between Dominic Moyer (5-10,198) and Hunter Hatlee (6-0, 210).

Who do you have coming back on defense?

We have six players back on defense. Our defensive line is set. We have both defensive ends back. They are Junior Joseph and Matt Rothrock. The one defensive tackle will be Yensi Uribe-Martinez (6-2, 222). The other one will be Justin Burk (5-9, 207) and Harry Destine (5-9, 215) who will alternate.

My inside linebacker is Dominic Moyer on one side and the other side it will be either Hunter Hatlee or Steve Emerson (5-9, 211). Outside linebackers are Madison Miller (6-3, 216) and Darian Weidenhammer (5-10, 198).

My secondary is going to be Jesse Poore at safety. Jim Brooks (5-8, 156) at one corner and Javon Young (5-8, 155) at the other corner spot.

Who do you have coming back on special teams?

My punter will be Madison Miller. My kicker is either going to be Darian Weidenhammer or Madison Miller. There may be another player or two trying out.

League

It should be much better with the addition of Lancaster Catholic. They are coming off a state championship. Than you have Manheim Township who has a potential division one quarterback and Penn Manor. They both should be solid teams. McCaskey always has skill kids. It should be a battle between three of four teams.

To have a successful season you have to?

Win a league championship. It has come to be expected here.
