Coaches comments:

How’s your offensive line?

“I have my center back, Steven Wyant. My right tackle is back and he is Khalim Hadas. Kameron Cotton is back. He played guard and tackle. Greg Nathaniel and Nasir Haqq could help us on the line.”

“Tymir Oliver played some tight end for us last year and he is back.”

Your sophomore quarterback is back. Talk about him.

“Antwain McCollum is back at quarterback. He will be a junior. He completed 102 of 168 (61% completion) for 1,552 yards and 13 touchdowns (5 INT). He could help in the run game more this year as a dual-threat quarterback.”

How does your running backs look?

“We have Greg White returning at running back . He was our leading rusher last year. He rushed for 1,469 yards on 197 carries and 28 touchdowns. David Swen is another guy returning. He played a lot last year and could help us out in the other running back position.”

How are your receivers?

“My third leading receiver is back from last year. He is Patrick Amara. He committed at Pittsburgh University. Ahkrill Crumpton and Craig Jones saw time at wide receiver last season for us.”

How’s your defensive line?

“Anthony Ukaha is back on the defensive line along with Tymir Oliver. They are the only two returning on the line.”

How do your linebackers look?

“We don’t return any starters from last year at linebacker. Neil Satterwhite and Freshman Marque McDuffy  will be in the mix. Jalil Branch will see action at outside linebacker and defensive end.”

How about your secondary?

“We have Patrick Amara back at safety. Rae’Quan Williams is back at corner. We are looking at Craig Jones to help us out. Greg White saw plenty of time at safety last year; David Swen could help there, too.”

What are your keys this year?

“Our lineman have to come together and play like a unit offensively. On the defensive side we need to play better at the linebacker positions.”

What are your strengths?

“On defense our secondary will be our strength. We have a lot of depth there. Our strength on offense is experience at the quarterback position and our running game. Skill positions should be pretty good.”
