   John, I explained it below…the committee watches 100s of hours of film, they break it down and pick who they feel is most deserving. The kicker, Cushma, made several All-Star teams this year, including the WPA 1A team. The All State team is not a criteria for the big33 team. The players are nominated by their coaches. Your player may not have even been nominated OR may not have been able to play in the game for a variety of reasons.

   My question is, who or how does the voting for the Pa Big 33
   work? Specifically on defense the kicking position, Derek Adams was all state in all voting and did not get the nomination for the kicking position? Derek Adams is from Manheim Central in district 3. The player that was nominated for the kicking position in this years 2016 Big 33 was not even mentioned for all state honors.
   Is there an explanation for as to how this is possible?

   realistically, Shaw is a RB. McGovern already in college and Menet didn’t want to play. The roster selection is very difficult and many don’t know the behind the scenes answers. They watch 100s of hours of film, have to contact people to see if they’ll play, many don’t/can’t for a variety of reasons. Instead of worrying about why someone didn’t make the list, just congratulate those who did. It’s a tough process
