2013 District 2 High School Football Changes

Holy Cross Crusaders
New Head Coach: Josh Watters
Former Head Coach: Jeff Stevens
2012 Record: 0-10
2012 Points Scored Per Game: 7.7 (36th in District)
2012 Points Allowed Per Game: 41.3 (35th in District)
…The former Bishop O’Hara quarterback, Josh Watters, was a member of the first coaching staff at Misericordia University last season. In college, he was a four-year letter winner at Lock Haven. The Crusaders are riding a 12-game losing streak. A year ago, Holy Cross allowed eight opponents to top 30-points.

Mid-Valley Spartans
New Head Coach: Dave Rebar
Former Head Coach: Frank Pazzaglia
2012 Record: 4-6
2012 Points Scored Per game: 23.3 (24th in District)
2012 Points Allowed Per Game: 22.7 (17th in District)
…The former Spartan head coach (2002-05: 19-24) returns to his alma mater. Rebar was an all-state lineman and went onto Syracuse, where he lettered three-years along the defensive line. Mid-Valley began the 2012 season with a 4-3 mark before dropping each of their final three contests.

Susquehanna Community Sabers
New Head Coach: Kyle Cook
Former Head Coach: John Salinkas
2012 Record: 3-7
2012 Points Scored Per Game: 14.1 (30th in District)
2012 Points Allowed Per Game: 29.9 (26th in District)
…Cook, 31 years old, assisted Coach John Salinkas last year on the Saber staff. Susquehanna Community closed out last season with a 0-5 record against teams who finished with a winning mark. The Sabers lost each of their last three games.

Western Wayne Wildcats
New Head Coach: Donnie McDonough
Former Head Coach: Allen Keller
2012 Record: 3-7
2012 Points Scored Per Game: 29.6 (9th in District)
2012 Points Allowed Per Game: 28.7 (23rd in District)
…The 2003 Western Wayne graduate, McDonough, takes over for Coach Butch Keller. The former quarterback must replace fifteen seniors from last year’s team.
