Notes: The Comet offense dropped from their scoring average of 25.3 in 2007 to 16.3 in 2008.

The red and black attack from Mountain Top will attempt to get off on the right foot at Berwick for the season opener on the new surface at Crispin Field. The Dawgs have not been too kind to the Comets winning their early season meetings each of the last four years by combined score of 123-38.

Dating back to the middle of the 2007 campaign, the Comets have won just once in twelve tries against teams who finished the season with a winning record (9/5/08: Pocono Mountain West, 21-14). Head Coach Greg Myers has reason to be optimistic though as his team played in five contests decided by ten points or less (2-3).

Crestwood will begin their preseason schedule against West Scranton on August 21 (10 a.m.). The Trojans of Wyoming Valley West will come calling for a special Saturday contest in week eight for the annual Comets’ homecoming.
