Coaches Q&A with Leo Plenski:

Q. What kind of leader is he?

A. Donte leads by example on the football field. He’s very quiet and will not hoot and holler, but he will definitely spark the other players when needed by making a big play.

Q. What are his strengths at running back?

A. His strengths are a multiple of styles rolled into one. He is a bruising back when needed, but will also stick his foot into the ground and put a move on the defender. He’s not afraid because of his size, he will lower his shoulder and hit you.

Q. What are his strengths as a defensive player?

A. When we allow him to play safety, we know that Donte will help stop the run inside the box. He’s not afraid of contact, which is a great thing, but also a weakness.

Q. Does he play special teams for you?

A. He returns kickoffs for us. He’s had 3 returns for touchdowns in the last two seasons and allows our offense to have good starting field position
