Coaches Q&A with George Howanitz:

Q. What are his strengths at offensive lineman?

A. He’s very physical, strong and he finishes all the way to the whistle and that’s what most of the colleges like about him. He has a high motor and makes plays down field.

We are mostly running team and a lot of people like the way he blocks. He’s a good run blocker and pass blocker too.

He has good feet and great balance. He used to box and was very good at it.

Q. What are his strengths on defense?

A. He has good strength and long arms. It allows him to bench press offensive lineman off his body and with his feet.

He’s able to move around players and makes a lot of plays for us.

Q. Final thoughts on Zach?

A. He has been working hard in the offseason on everything. His conditioning is very good and a lot of it comes from his boxing. He’s in tremendous shape.

He’s a great kid and student. He plays the game hard and plays it the way it should be played.

I am proud on how far he has come the last three years. I know he will be a success in the future and I know he will do well at Rutgers.
