District 11 Talk Week 12

Allentown Central Catholic

Quarterback Brendan Nosovitch and company defeated Wilson Area 49-21 in a PIAA District 11 Class 3A football final.

Nosovitch outdueled All-State quarterback Tyler Smith, throwing for 285 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

Wide receiver Kevin Gulyas caught six passes for 214 yards and three scores.

Allentown Central Catholic had 479 yards of total offense.

Allentown Central Catholic (11-1) plays the District 2 champ Abington Heights (11-1)

Easton Area

Easton Area defeated Hazleton Area 28-6 in a PIAA District 11 Class 4A semifinal game.

Quran Hughes and Gaddy led the way in rushing. Hughes rushed for 110 yards on 17 carries. Jashadd Gaddy added 57 yards rushing.

Quarterback Pacchioli completed 5 of 9 passes for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Before Easton Area (11-1) plays Parkland (10-2) for the District 11 Class 4A championship game, they play Phillipsburg (9-1) on Thanksgiving day.

Note: P’burg defeated Easton Area in the Gatorade Replay game back in April in front of 14,000 fans 27-12.

Northern Lehigh

On the last play of the game Catasauqua quarterback Brandon Lesko threw a fade pass in the corner of the end zone and Dylan Hofmann knocked the ball away from wide receiver Tommy Armellino as the ball fell to the ground.

Northern Lehigh won a thrilling 20-17 win over Catasauqua in a District 11 Class 2A semifinal game.

Cody Remaley rushed for 236 yards on 42 carries and two touchdowns.

Northern Lehigh (10-2) plays North Schuylkill (12-0)

North Schuylkill

Both teams had chances to win during the game. But in the third overtime Ed Pavalko tipped a pass from Panther Valley’s quarterback Casey Lawrence and Tyler Dean came up with the interception to seal the Spartans’ 35-28 win in the District 11 Class 2A semifinal game.

Pavalko rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
